Good luck with that. Not sure you could even powder coat the stock rims for $1K.

If your budget for wheels is $1K, you should not be in the market for wheels. In this case, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the factory wheels. Powder-coat them if you wish...nothing wrong with that if done tastefully. Figure that will run you $150/wheel when it's all said and done including removal and re-mounting/balancing of your existing tires.
LOL, no...the wheels in those pics he posted just might be that cheap. They are likely sold as a set with tires you've never heard of for less than $1K. We're talking about low-end stuff here. Besides, I doubt they are even available in proper widths for the Z, as their target market is FWD cars which can only fit 8"-8.5" wheels. However, regardless of improper fitment, that usually doesn't stop kids who want some "sick lookin ryms fo they ride" from getting them anyway. Last edited by AK370Z; 09-27-2009 at 03:51 PM. yeah I'm going to rock the stocks for a while until the new volk re-30 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 in our offsets come out. Or i'll go the busta route and get a set of enkies(forgot which series they were but same size) or some OZ ultrasuperlageria's in 20's if i want to go bigger. Looked at the volk gt-30's too.
your going to lose serious cash on anything you buy. Save up and buy the car first. Last edited by AK370Z; 09-27-2009 at 03:51 PM. Reason: .. name calling |

sorry guys, maybe it's just because I just entered the world of Z, I knew nothing about rims, the prices and wat's tasteful and what's .... u know...craps...
it's just that I saw some posts in the wheel/tire section saying that a set of Axis or forgestar is under 1.5k and the rims look pretty good on 370z so I figure maybe I can get some 18" under 1k, well, if not i'll just pay more. you're right, the rims I posted are cheap, mostly costs around 700 a set, im just asking for how the style might look on our Zs...if it's unacceptable...it's fine....you dont have to judge people. I chose to lease the Z is b/c i know I cant drive a sports car forever, 3 years are good enough for me, after 3 years the car would be gone then I'd be free to move on to another car, another sports, a seden, a SUV or an Van w/o any debt or an up-side-down when you wanna swtich the car, i know it might sound stupid, but I think leasing is definitely the way to go for guys who like to switch their car every couple years. |

Its unfortunate to enter a thread to see a person asking for some opinions about something and winds up getting called an idiot. This forum is made up of all kinds of Z fans. Some experienced, some not. Some old, some young. We're all here to share and hopefully promote the 370Z among others. Keep it cordial and leave the flaming for the other forums.

To the OP: There are some decent wheel companies out there that aren't going to cost you an arm and a leg. You mentioned Axis and Forgestar. I'd seriously look at some Axis wheels. Their prices are going to be pretty good and they have some wheels that look pretty darn nice on our cars. Forgestar has it's own thread of unhappyness so take that for what it's worth. |

The main problem is you come and ask for suggestions and most suggest that if you pay an arm and a leg for a wheel it's better. Then when you ask why they cant answer. if you have any experience in the manufacturing world and or business world you would soon find out that that is just not true.
Like someone said you have all age groups, diff tastes etc... but just listen to the replies and you can pick the uninformed ones. They are they first to tell you pay 8000 or 10000 dollars for a set of rims that go on a 33000 car, seems kinda dumb if you ask me. kinda like the guy that has a benz living in an apartment. nothing wrong with that if that is what you choose just doesnt make since to the avrg. guy. Now if you own a 100,000 car like some folks i can see that being spent on wheels it's all proportion(sp). Pick the wheels you like check the reputation of the manufacturer and go for it. you will never get a straight answer from anyone as to why this wheel is better than that wheel,it's simply choice. I am a bussiness owner and i wish some of these carts were buyers in my world i could retire quickly!!! go and talk to some people that are deep into oil development , plastic, tires you will be shocked. The list goes on and on. but sure as the sun will shine some 15 year old will quickly jump in and tell you "you get what you pay for" ![]() |

Just spend the good $150-200 per rim to get them powder coated. I was only charged $75 a rim on my 18" stock Z rims so the price wont be to bad.
Spend some time on the forums and you will learn quickly what separates rims that are $1000 a set, $3000 a set, to $7000 a set. Last edited by Zerafian; 09-27-2009 at 02:55 PM. |

To the OP, I was also on a budget and picked up a set of aftermarket rims used for a great price. Keep an eye on the classifieds and jump on the right deal when it comes along. |

wasn't pickin on his wheel choice thats up to him just saying that modding a lease is equivalent to just burning all the cash with a lighter. You could literally light 2 dollars on fire every day of your lease with the money you'd spend on wheels.
