Steering Wheel Shake Between 70 MPH and 80 MPH
Hello Everyone, I have just installed new 20 wheels with lowering kit (1 front almost 1 on the back). I have taken the car to where I got the wheels and they have laser balanced the tires/wheels but when I hit 70 MPH the steering wheels has a very small shake, it happens between 70 and 80, once Im over 80 the shakes goes away. I have put back the stock wheels and tires and still shakes at the same speeds.
I have done a bit of research with very little results, some say it might be the tired rod, some say it might be the struts. Team, please advise. Thanks, Yoshi |

Well you have to understand that with larger wheels, you have thinner tires. At the same time, you can't expect the same ride once you switch out the wheels. My Z does the same exact thing...

There was no shaking berfore the mods, mind you I did it all at once, wheels and springs. I just cant believe that there would be a shake just because I'm using 20's. Something is not right. thank you All for your input, I'm getting frustrated.

i recommend you check your struts for leak. also loosen tower and bottom fasteners and re-tighten with the vehicle weight on the suspension.
it shouldn't matter 18, 19, or 20. there should be no vibration. |

Excellent Kenchan, I will get that checked, its just annoying to drive it with that little shake. All feedback is welcome, I just want to get to the bottom of it. Thank you All.

Could it be the wheels need to get re-balanced?
