OO Man +1 for you^^^.

How many seconds would it take to drop that on a Blue Z?

Give me tonight or tomorrow to do the car blue ;) I have to trace and copy the body shell.

ok i want to do that and get than handles painted black just like that.
So with the rims i would have to get it powercoated. Then for the red how would that work paint
?

^ that can be powdercoated - just going to be a PITA but it can be done

bullitt5897 09-29-2009 01:45 PM

Ok... I got a short break here at work and threw this together. The color isnt perfect but its close enough to give you an idea.

Like mentioned above that can be powder coated. most likely a black base with the protected areas taped off the repowder coated with the black base covered and then the clear would probably be applied. I am not 100% sure but it makes sense to me.

if you black out the rims, you got to powdercoat the calipers blue

Let me know if there are any other colors you want and I will make them... it takes about 5 secs to do it.

Can you do the same sort of thing (Black with Blue highlights on the inside section) on the stock 18's for me by any chance? (not the sport rims)

Its a really good idea hey. Love the look of the red ones, alot better then some of the powdercoat designs i have seen on the forum!

Can you do these in blue but chop it so rather "Z"s on the sport wheel are in the stock polished metal and the rest of the spoke is blue? The chops or actual wheels are "V"s instead of the "Z".....

From what I understand you want the end of the spokes in blue so it looks like a Z instead of the Mesh style V? I hate to break it to you but with the way the spoke is designed that will look real awkward! because in order to do the Z I would have to use an area that is wider than the V part giving it a skewed look. If you still want it done I will do it...

So i went to a wheel repair specialist in Albion (Queensland, AUS) yesterday and asked if they could paint the stock 18"s a Gloss black and then put the blue pinstripe around the rim and down the spokes like I wanted....

They said they couldnt because they would have to tape it all up and the edges of the blue on the black would look super tacky... So that sucks.

He told me he could do the black gloss paint for $165 each wheel (Which I thought was a bit expensive!?) but said I should try and get custom blue stickers or something like that made up to fit on the rims.
He also said if we do the rims black i should blacken the door handles too... Which is true I guess but I read somewhere on here that they are a real bitch to get off?! Dont really want a rim specialist messing with my doors :S

anyway... interesting concept... 'stickers' on the rims...
Iv never seen it done myself?
Any recommendations?

this looks sick. i have the brilliant silver 370 also and was wondering what the car would look like with the black/silver wheels. could u also do a black/gold and gold/black combo? i want to tint my headlights yellow and tryin to be different, but i still want it to look good. i'm very picky when it comes to customizing (as u can see with the celica i had). thanks.
