Help me chose a color to powdercoat!
 

Hey dudes... While amuse is being slapped on at the shop, I've come to the realization that I really need to powdercoat the spokes on my wheels once the kit is on.

The wheels in question are BBS LM style 20", with a 2" lip up front and 4.5" up rear. (10, 11)

I've ran the hyperblack (a shade of silver) with polished lip color combo that comes from factory for the whole time I've had the wheel. It looks pretty much like a completely machined silver wheel.

This looks awesome up close (4-10 feet away from the car), and while it is parked.

However at a distance, the wheel appears to be a huge blob of silver, almost chrome-like. Also, up close, when driving at speed, I don't quite enjoy the look of the pattern either. So its time to change it up.

My options are:

- Candy Red
- Candy Blue
- Black (not sure of what shade, whether gloss, matte, or maybe even gunmetal)

Any input and advice is welcome. Here are some pics of the wheels on the actual car.

I'd say red would look good. Blue is board-line okay but it will match your exhaust.

A darker or gunmetal color which ive always liked. If your car was white, i would definitely do blue, but thats just me.

Black its better but if u have some small red accents I think red would look good

The car might be wrapped in pear white within a month, so the color needs to work with both black and white... I'm kind of torn between black/gunmetal and red.

Darker gunmetal, totally get what you are saying about the color.. Have the same wheels in 19". BTW what offsets are you running on the 20's? +15? And it clears the akebono?

Why not add a poll?

Red seems the color of choice by Facebook votes, black/gunmetal by the voice of forums...

Also, the sizing is 10et25 11et15 front back respectively, clears aekebonos by 1 mm :bowrofl: :happydance:

I think black would be nice. Red, if you are going for that kind of look.

Since the Varrstoens are 1 piece, just be sure to choose a reputable shop that can do a good job of masking the lip of your wheel

If you are possibly doing white in the future go with black or better yet gun metal. It goes really good with both colors.

@kayzee hey i have the those rim in 19 but was wondering what lug nuts do you use? And did you change your wheel thread to a longer one

i like the red but would probably go with the blue due to your tailpipes

I own the Red wheels in the picture you used, they look awsome. Just now having ISS re-polish the lips and replace all the hardware and inner barrells. they will go on my 40th anniversary when they are done, but with the red brakes and red interior, I will do a small red accent color on the skirts and 3 piece front lip, just to add a bit of a POP. Piant the bay with a red accent as well. Work in progress.

I vote black for yours, I want the red to stay as unique as possible.
