When you get your racing slicks from Michelin. They come that way. That tire is on a Viper GTS-R LeMans racer. :yum:

I never would have thought to be concerned about the graphics or labeling on my tires.

thanks for the picts. :D

yah, just personal preference, i like my sidewalls less round.

regarding picts of S04's i run them on my G.

i currently have 2 wheel sets for my Z. one is DW and the other has AdvanSports. the advans look great, but they grip like old S03's from early 2000's. the DW's grip okay but soft and round sidewalls which i dont like.

guess i will wrap S04's next time around on my Z wheels. now i dont have to rush to buy tires from tirerack.
they have a $70 gift card for PSS until this weekend.

Yeah I see what you mean. I Don't know if I prefer one or the other actually. Whenever you get the SO4's on be sure to put up a pic! I'm going to need new front tires soon, but I'm going to hold out till the end of summer when they all need replacing and see what I go with.

yah, i mean, i know im just being picky... :icon17:

yep, will do on the S04 picts.

kenchan 06-11-2014 08:09 PM

here's my G's rear running 285/35/19 S04's on 19x10.5 wheels as reference. the fronts are a different size from our Z's so probably not a good reference.

here's shaun's pss in comparison... notice how much rounder the shoulder is.

kenchan 06-11-2014 08:17 PM

even rounder is my 285/35/19 DW... on 19x10.5

these almost reminds me of race tire or something roundness... lol

The real question is how long did your S04s last

if that's your REAL question, then you should look at all season tires... we are talking summer tires here.

S04's have good tread life, but not 30K. these are 10k-15k tires. i dont want them to last longer actually since i only put about 3-5k miles a year on these cars. would dry rot if they lasted 30k... :ugh:

That roundness would probably help me fit that 245 tire closer to the fender you recommended for my font.

OP. You have enough info to make a decision on this. The one thing I would not recommend is not to have a different set on the front as you asked. Go with all four not just the rear. You will not regret your purchase.

Limeybastard 06-11-2014 11:04 PM

PSS has rim protectors also. Good bonus.

Possibly....but ur wheel is 9" width at ET32 was it? You have plenty of clearance.
My q to u was backspacing (caliper clearance).

cooltoy 06-12-2014 12:33 AM

Jason at GYW will measure for me.

Mt Tam I am 06-12-2014 09:27 AM

Michelin PSS are fantastic everyday and good at the track for ten minutes then suffer slightly. In the rain at the track no one I've seen has a better tire. They are quieter than stock on the freeway.

I just purchased my third set. I will never go back to stock Potenza even at half price.

No regrets with PSS. None. :tiphat:

EDIT: PSS make a sound before the rear lets go, unlike the stock ones.
PSS may be as close to a Ferrari as I ever get, as they come stock.

wear

How many miles are you all getting? no info said other than positive notes of grip, sidewall and decent look. I am afraid to know but I think they do have 30k warranty?

If you run off-set like all sport models, then the warranty is only 15,000 miles.

I get about 12 to 13K out of the rears and twice that from the fronts.

kenchan 06-12-2014 11:24 AM

axmea? 06-12-2014 01:13 PM

I'm at 21k and still has pretty decent thread life. Then again, the camber was slightly conservative. This will change when I lower the car some more and go back to an aggressive set up.

shaun66 06-12-2014 02:12 PM

19k miles here they still look ok. My fronts are wearing faster than my rears for some reason though.

Would be funny if you put the backs to the front lol.

I actually saw a paddy do that back in England on his bmw m5. He put the rears on the front it looked very unusual.
