Default Need some opinions (Hankook RS-3 vs V12 vs Falken 453)

My TE37SLs are 19x9.5+22f and 19x10.5x12r, I'm going with 275/35/19f and 305/30/19r which I believe is the optimal size.

Can anyone share their experience with these tires?

you try looking at S04 and DW?

dont do the 453. they are by far the garbagiest of the garbage.
why bother getting a sports car if youre cheaping out on tires...

The guy was trying to sell me hardcore on the 453s....glad I asked you guys first.

Thanks

EDIT: I also think the front should be 265/35/19f not 275/35/19f, but the Hankooks don't come in that size...

I went with 275/35 and 305/30 Hankook RS-3's on 19x9.5+23 and 19x10.5 +7... I think they are great so far. I haven't pushed them anywhere near the limit and they ride much better than the Hankook V12's IMO. I do 90% dry driving and this is a weekend car.

The bridgestone S-04 pole position was a close second option considering the price

I think the rs3 is on sale. They are $300 plus tires normally! Not even close to being in the price range of the others or even the same planet in performance. If they are priced like a v12 buy 20 of them!

Yeah I'm a big fan of the RS3, they're a great tire. I don't think they'll last as many miles as my Conti DW's did, but they grip harder and they're more predictable at the limit. They'll handle wet pavement ok, but I wouldn't want to be stuck with them in a serious downpour or with major puddles on the surface.

I was quoted roughly $1500CDN all in, for all of the choices. I'm still shopping around though.

Rs3 is great if you don't mind changing them every 10k... That's from what I've read not personal experience. v12 is awesome for the price. So much better than those stupid stock tires.

Isn't rs3 geared a little more toward track use than DD?

It really is, but it seems to wear slower than most equivalent track tires.

i have a tire dilemma too. im stuck between
Michelin Pilot Super Sport
Hankook V12
Toyo Proxes T1R

im not saying they're equal. im saying each has pros and cons and im trying to decide which cons i can live with, and which pros i cant live without

I'm trying to decide if I can live with the R-S3 treadlife vs the V12.

Let me know what you decide to go with.

im probably going to pick them up from tire rack and swing over to the states to get them. cheaper by FAR. if i do that, ill end up with whichever tire has best grip in the wet regardless of price

I've heard in dry weather they're fantastic tires and have seen plenty of people use them for auto-x.

As for the treadwear - I wouldn't put much weight into how long people say tires will last. It varies so much from person to person. My stock bridgestone RE050's have lasted me +30k miles and the rears are finally at the wear bar. This is with mostly highway driving to work and two autocross days in +70 degree weather. Most people said 12-20k miles on those. *shrug*
