ABS activating around turns
We have a 2009 370 and the complaint is around turns ABS will activate and want to spin the car out of control.
Front tires are 255/35/20 Rear tires are 295/35/20 The difference in height from front to rear very, very little. From the info I have gathered so far, is the rear needs to be a 30 which looks out of place. My question is has anyone come up with a way to fool the ABS computer to think the wheels are spinning slower? |

that wouldn't be the problem. When mine was still a street car I always ran a square setup and there were no adverse affects.

I think you already know your answer the rears need to be a 30 and then the diameters from front to rear will be just about spot on.
This is just semantics but its the traction control not the abs. It is detecting the difference in diameter between the front and rear tires as difference wheel speeds and assuming the car is skidding and trying its best to correct the problem. You can always disable the VDC. Someone with more knowledge than mine could chime in as to whether the abs remains intact with the VDC disabled. |

Going to Tire Rack and getting spec's on the tires you listed.
255/35-20 is 27.0" tall. 295/35-20 is 28.1" tall. That's too much of a differance. Need a 295/30-20 on the rear. It's 27.0" tall .

My Traction Control would kick in around turns when I replaced only the rear tires after they wore out. And that's with OEM sizes. Replacing the fronts rectified the problem.

285/30-20 is 26.8 tall. I don't know how you are not getting any lights? Most run into problems around 0.4" differance.

My friend is running the same wheels and same size tires on his Nismo with no lights or issues as well. We had to run 245/30 opposed to 245/35 in order to clear the wheels without camber arms or some unsightly pull.
