265 35 19 tires on stock 19" rays

Hey
I'm looking to get some winter tyres now while it's off season and I noticed that 265/35/19 tyres are much cheaper. Has anyone fitted these tyres? It will drop the diameter by 7mm over the stock 275/35/19 and create a lot more stretch but narrower tyres are better in snow anyways. Has anyone had any issues with this size?

Also I'm thinking I should maybe get 235/40/19 tyres instead of the 245/40/19 because the narrower tyre is 8mm less on diameter. If I'm dropping the rear diameter should I also drop the front too so that the car doesn't think the rears are spinning faster than the fronts and think that I'm skidding? Front tyres are same price for 235 or 245.

Thanks

You will be fine. I am currently running 255/35/18 square which is about as far off from factory sport wheel specs as you can go (because used run flat RE050A's in this size are everywhere and make great street/rainy track day tires and I can get them for around $35 a pop).

I have also run mismatched tires front and back and have never had an issue. In my experience, our cars are not very sensitive to tire size differences.

Be careful what these "forum experts" tell you. Anyone who tells you that running 265/35/19 in the rear and 235/40/19 is going to be a problem does not know what they are talking about.

I wanted to do those exact sizes too. I want to put tires 235/40/19 front and 265/35/19 rear on my stock 19 inch Ray wheels for my 2013 370Z.
How did it look and any problems occurred by using these sizes? Please let me know. Thanks!

Do yourself a favor and put the sizing into this tire calculator

235-40-19 and 265-35-19 = front tire is taller than rear tire, not recommended for a RWD car

You can run 235-35-19 and 265-35-19 without issue instead or 245-35-19 and 275-35-19

You know the stock tire size for a 370Z is taller in the front tires as well. A 245/40/19 tire is taller than a 275/35/19. Those are stock tires sizes for the sport package 19 inch rims for the Z.

I just got hold of ntsn2 size 265/35/19 nitto tires for my XD wheels. So far don't have any issues with it.
