Gold GT30 Time (56k warning sorta)

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone at Amplified Motorsport for hooking me up! They always take care of my car.

Soooo here we go. A bit flashy but I likes...

What do you think?

kdo2milger 09-06-2009 12:23 AM

its different...need window tint, and maybe black door handles too...

zman1910 09-06-2009 12:30 AM

I think it looks great! Are those 20's? is it dropped? Slammed would look even better

They're 20's, dropped with KW V3's.

Perhaps black door handles are indeed called for. Hmmmm.....

smurfblu13 09-06-2009 01:46 AM

I really like the rims . They set your car off just right. But I think it needs to be dropped a little more or spacers or something. Those rims scream out to everyone and there's just something about the rear, I can't put my finger on it. Regardless sick *** combo man.

AK370Z 09-06-2009 02:43 AM

unique combo. I like it. Light tint (40%) would set your car off really nice.

LOU@AMPLIFIED 09-06-2009 03:47 AM

Great pics Dean. Thank you for giving us your business

Here are some more pics of his bad *** Z34:tup:

smoke the tail lights and probably even the headlights, but definately window tint...

seems like the red tail lights kinda stand out too much against the gold wheels, like they are competing...

Minicobra1 09-06-2009 09:21 AM

Not a big fan of gold wheels, but looks good on the black.
Agree on the black door handles, tint, and depending on your ride quality with the V3's maybe drop it about 1/2 inch more.

kevr6 09-06-2009 10:30 AM

I like the size, lip design and even the gold on black! The wheel is a pinch to busy for my tastes but still something I would consider! Seems like you need to lower the her another 15 to 20 mm though (just remove your front splash spoilers)!! Thumbs up for a wheel I haven't seen on here!

dszombiex 09-06-2009 11:31 AM

Thanks for all the suggestions gents!

Edit:
I'm a bit weary of dropping her more because I've already scraped my Fast Intentions Exhaust a few times after I got my coilovers.... :(

Sharif@Forged 09-07-2009 12:09 PM

Great choice in wheels. Gold looks absolutely sick on black cars. I too, would suggest lowering it another 1/2 inch for a cleaner look.

Congrats. What offset did you end up going with?

lemansz20 09-07-2009 07:21 PM

Honestly after seeing a couple of 370s already, a 25 series tire is just way to small for this car. A 30 profile in the rear is minimum Id says, maybe these are 30 but they sure dont look it.

agree, love the black/gold combo tho

RCZ 09-07-2009 10:33 PM

Dont like GT-30's, sorry to be negative :( All the power to you for buying a set of Volks though :)

kdoske 09-07-2009 10:59 PM

56k warning, to funny. We should rally and have this disclaimer changed to '2G Warning' on all post across the internet.

I am not a fan of the rims on the 370, but they are nice.

CrownR426 09-08-2009 12:09 AM

I think they look great!
Nice choice, gold is the ****!

sloterg 09-08-2009 08:43 AM

props on the wheels.. i always loved the gold

broken record.. tint with some color matching handles n ur straight..

maybe even a lil more drop..?

shabarivas 09-08-2009 10:04 AM

would like to see it in 19s i think 20s are too big for the car

It's all about what offsets your running and also tires sizes matter a lot!
I think 19's and even 20's look fine.

+1. Many of the 20 inch wheels, with proper tires on them even have smaller OD's than OEM, so they don't LOOK that big. :) You are just increasing height of the wheel, while decreasing the height of the tire, for a net awesome look. :)

shabarivas 09-08-2009 03:56 PM

except you are also adding an *** load of weight to the unsprung rotation weight of the car... This is a sports car where if I spend money on the wheels it will make them lighter as well :)

jmlenz 09-08-2009 06:08 PM

remove splash guards + crank those coilovers down to eliminate the tire gap...

But the mufflers on my FI exhaust are gonna be scrapin the ground :(

Zerafian 09-09-2009 05:42 PM

your exhaust hangs that low ?! In for rear shots to see this...thats odd

Not sure how worried you are about ride comfort but you need to drop that another 1"

Still looks great though, I almost pulled the trigger on GT-30s before I found my SFChallenges.

I only have about 2 7/8 inches clearance!

vehl 09-09-2009 11:09 PM

should lower the car more, just like forged performance did with they grey z34.

If I'm not mistaken, the GT30'S in 20's are the same weight if not lighter than his stock OE 18'S. I can't remember what the weight is on the 19 inch sport wheels. The 20x10.5 rear weighs 25lbs which is not bad for 20's.

BTW if anyone is looking for lightweight 20's, there's a couple of sets of the NEW VOLK RACING G2'S available in flat black and formula silver. 20x10 only weighs 21 lbs:tup: The 19 inch G2'S are right about 19 lbs

OMGWTFBBQ 09-11-2009 03:44 PM

That white G in front of the door is pretty sick. :p

dainedazz 09-11-2009 05:00 PM

Looks good!

PROPS for the GOLD RIMS! not a lot of people would f*ck with gold rims!
I myself is getting gold ones ;) different style & design from yours tho! I cant wait till i get mine. most likely January:excited:

im getting my rims in 19's and looking/shooting for the most aggressive offset!

HAVE FUN WITH THE RIMS AND ENJOY THE NECK BREAKING WHEN U DRIVE BY!

btw, your car would really look good if it was tinted ;)

Lou,

You also need to take into account rotational inertia. Even if a 20" wheel weighs the same as an 18", the 20" still has a larger diameter which makes it harder to spin. Of course weight is important, but it isn't the only thing

of course, thats why i suggested those tire sizes so its not too much of the original diameter

His 18 OE diameter front: 26.85, rear: 26.68
His new 20 gt30 with 255/30/30: 26.02 and rear 295/25/20: 25.80

So his new setup is lighter and slightly smaller than his OE 18'S:tup::tup:

You make an excellent point Lou!

Zerafian 09-13-2009 11:16 PM

well damn!..thx for posting that pic for meh :)

Those are friggin huge...oh well I suppose. Like I said before the rims still look great.

whoadysofine 09-14-2009 11:07 PM

is it dropped? how many inches did u drop it?

MightyBobo 09-14-2009 11:14 PM

Ugg, got my answer - definitely stay away from gold. Props for trying it. Not for me, though :(

Like around 1 inch or so. Maybe 1 1/8 or something.

Wow, so basically if you get the FI exhaust, you cant lower the car low enough to get rid of all the gap? Was set on FI because of the power gains and the way they look, but that definately kills it.
