What is the "right" fitment

2 Attachment(s)
Okay for starts let me say that its been since the early 90's since I have done any mods to a car and I am in the process of educating myself.

I just purchased a 2011 370z base model, (ie no sport package) in Monterey Blue or Prussian Blue for the Canadians.

Stock wheels as I understand it are
front 18x8j with 43mm offset
rear 18x9j with 15mm offset

For the time being the suspension will be left stock, the plan for the future is a KW variant 3. I will not be tracking the car but want to be able to lower the ride about 1inch and still have it comfortable for the street. When it is lowered I will add on adjustable camber as required, no short cutting that will lead to premature wear of expensive tires. The car will be my summer driver.

I am in love with the SSR GT V03 rims in flat black which will be awesome with the blue.

I was thinking for sizes
front 19x9.5j with 45offset
rear 19x10.5j with 25offset

is there any danger of rubbing now or future? When I said "right" in the subject line I mean a fitment that will not cause me any grief. If I need to stay narrower I will but I like the aggressive stance the wider tires will provide.

Thanks for any help.

These offsets are very conservative. What look are you going for? I am running 19x9.5 +12 and 10x10.5 +22 (or vice versa on the offsets can't remember) and I the fitment is great

for the SSR GT V03 the offset options are as follows

19x9.5j available offsets 20, 35 or 45
19x10.5j available offsets 15, or 25

I don't mind moving the tires out some to get more of the flush look but I don't want to then have to dial in so much camber that I get uneven wear on the tire. I guess I have memories of the 90s with slammed Hondas with so much camber it looks like the tires are about to fall off. So I'm thinking yes to be a bit conservative on the set up to allow proper alignment adjustment and to have no rubbing either from suspension travel or turning.

The oem nismo wheels are 19 X 9.5 +40 and 19 X 10.5 +23 so that would actually be a tiny bit less aggressive. I'd say out of those options get 19x9.5 +35 and 19x10.5 +15 and if you see that you want to space then out a bit get some 5 or 10 mm spacers.

Front 19x9.5 +45 will stick out 18 mm more than your stock rim.
Front 19x9.5 +35 will stick out 28 mm more than your stock rim.
Front 19x9.5 +20 will stick out 43 mm more than your stock rim.

Rear 19x10.5 +25 will stick out 10 mm more than your stock rim.
Rear 19x10.5 +15 will stick out 20 mm more than your stock rim.

Keep in mind that they will tuck slightly when you lower.

Go with 19x9.5 +20 275/35/19, 19x10.5 +15 305/30/19.

i rub at 275/35/19 +24 on a 19x9.5 wheel lowered about 1.5 inches.

OP mentioned that he is staying at stock height at the moment. When he gets the KW Variant 3 and lowers it about an inch, as he stated in the OP, then he just needs to throw in about 1.5 degrees of negative camber in the front and bam problem solved.

If anything, just go with a 265/35 if it's an issue.

This is the most sought after offset. The wheels will end up close, if not exact, below the fenders, hence flush but not hellaflush. Best stance IMO if your going to lower the car.

I am running stock suspension currently and have 19x9.5 +22 (with 8mm spacer) in front and 19x9.5 +12 in the rear, no rubbing issues. Fronts could definitely use some negative camber and the whole thing could be lowered :)

jdsto 02-17-2014 08:58 PM

Thank you to everyone who has posted. I'm not sure I have made any decisions yet but the information has been helpful.

So to test my understanding a +22 (with 8mm spacer) would be the equivalent of a +14 offset which would have the fronts way out about 48mm farther out than the stock rims.

Next stop is the shop where I plan to get the suspension work done and ask there opinion they are a Z specialty shop and should know the right balance on the offset to clear the suspension and not rub the fenders.

If I have to go narrower I will but yes it would definitely be cool to be running the 305's

Sounds about right. here is what it looks like from a6walter1 build thread.

Thanks for any help.

your offsets will look fairly close to the Nismo wheel offsets.
Nismo wheels are 19x9.5 ET41 and 19x10.5 ET23. imho looks prefect at stock height.

check my albums page for wat the car looks like at stock height.

if you're going lower, and going for looks, you will probably want to pushout 10mm. i suggest you do the lowering first and see how much camber you will get to decide your offsets.

but you're on the right track as far as guestimating the offset.
