You sort of need to know what you bought. Somebody along the line has that info.

he said that the offset on the wheels was 15, what difference will this do CoolToy?! whats your advise? try to get bigger tire? i know i cant change wheels for sure, even the tires might give me hard time, but i mean, they should know this things!! :shakes head::shakes head: your suggestion please

See if they'll replace the tire with a 285/30/20 and then after the drop you can measure your clearance to decide how much spacer you need.

Yes, since offset and tire size are two different things, deal with them one at at time.

Get the tire changed first.

Second, find out the exact offsets in the front and the back (maybe you can see then on the inside of the wheel when they take them off).

Once you know the offsets, we can advise on spacer size. With out the offsets it's a guessing game.

first and most of all, I must apologize if my post is not done correctly, firt time ever posting anything anywhere.

to the point, I just had 20" 8.5 front (245/35/20) and 20" 10 back (275/30/20) Savini BM4. for some odd reason, I'm not sure if its just me but it seems that the back wheels/tire look smaller than the front. anyone has experienced this before and is there a quick not costly fix?

thank you all for your quick response.

Yoshi

it's your offset. you got it wrong. will fix it by adding a 10mm on the rear probably.

come on yoshi, you're japanese, no? you should know this. :shakes head: :icon17: ;)

+1 for an 8.5" front that doesn't look that bad

I would just keep your rear tires and switch to 245-30-20's in the front

From the pics you provided it's not that sunken in the front so worst case don't get spacers until you see how it looks with different front tires.

hahaha... not japanese but for sure Z fanatic...

finally, the shop has been nice enough to take my tires back and will be getting me 285/30/20, so this should make a difference, no?!?

this forum dealio its awesome, better than an encyclopedia!!! after i get this tires swap, i will come back to ask for lowering education 101... but thinking on 1.0" front and .5" back...

cooltoy 01-16-2014 11:06 AM

That's why you need the offsets. When you lower, the top of the wheels will tuck in more, so you might need larger spacers vs non-lowered. Read the spacer 101 sticky.

Why did you go with 20" 8.5 front (245/35/20) and 20" 10 back (275/30/20)? Be honest with you, I would have went 20x9.5 (265/35) & 20x11 (315/30). I wouldn't go any smaller than 305 in the rear. You want the tires to look nasty and aggressive looking, but still sexy looking as well. Given your 20x10 size I would recommend going to 295/30 at least if not 305/30.
