GTR Rims?
Thinking about taking the plunge and buying a set of oem gtr rims for my 370z. My question is will the tpm still work and would the sport rim center caps fit into the gtr rims? The oem gtr rims I am looking at on ebay have no center caps.

Yes

Yes to both questions?
|
No offense, but why GTR wheels? So many better options out there IMO..
|
Well to be honest I like to be somewhat subtle and I think the 20' wheels with the swift springs would look pretty good. Also on my black z I think the wheels would look Sick...!!!
|
I like the look. If you're getting a good deal on them, go for it!

I think GTR rims quite heavy, may blunt the performance...

They're two pounds heavier in front and four in the rear than sport wheels. |

at least there are tires that fit our cars in 20" size that can handle the load weight on the front. |

if only my Z had the torque of a GTR. :icon17: |

They're not my first choice, but they're still a hell of a lot lighter than most of the aftermarket wheels that people here slap on their cars. |

GTR Rims?
From memory, sport wheels are 23-24 lbs. the GTR wheels aren't that heavy, but the OEM run flats are really heavy. With regular tires it's probably a wash.

i would never put wheels over 22-23lbs on my Z for sure. |

it's unbelievable how light my weds/nismo sets are compared to my 3pc ssr's and 2pc work's i use on my G with S04's. |
Here was some math I did to justify new wheels. I actually saved weight buying new wheels with the offset I wanted VS. putting spacers on the OEM Sport RAYS.
Stock Setup 19x9 Front: Rim 23.2lbs With tire/stock 52.2lbs 19x10 Rear: Rim 23.9lbs with tire/stock 56.8lbs Z1 spacers weigh 16LBS for all four. 56.2LBS each front wheel x 2 = 112.4LBS 60.8LBS each rear wheel x 2 = 121.6LBS From Forgestars Data Testing on Website 19x9 Front: Rim 25.5lbs With tire/stock 54.5lbs 19x11 Rear: Rim 25.7lbs with tire/stock 58.6lbs 54.5LBS each front wheel x 2 = 109LBS 58.6LBS each rear wheel x 2 = 117LBS Front difference: 3.4 LBS Rear difference: 4.6 LBS |

I'm not sure how accurate it is, but try downloading this spreadsheet of wheel weights.
