Tires for everyday driving???
So I've read through almost every thread in 'Wheels and Tires', I just need what is the best bang for the buck for tires for daily driving, I'm not racing the car. Just looking for what the general favorites are for tires. I have a 2010 370Z Touring, 18's stock rims, everything on the car is stock. Bought the car with Sumitomo HTRZIII Brand on them. The original owner put these on when he first got the car new, the car is now is at 30k miles. Should I just replace with the same, which I'm fine with. But I'd thought I'd research some options first. I live in Phoenix, AZ so anything recommended for the hot weather here. Thanks for anyone that responds back, much appreciated. Need new tires ASAP!

I have the HTR z3, at 300utg no surprise they lasted 30k. Not the best tire because its not sticky enough but for a DD longevity and price you can't beat it.

search! continental extremecontact DW or DWS are good choices. the DWS will last longer, and much less aggressive than the DW

if you have extra cash, go for the S04's. they are better all round, except for the added weight.. but for dd'ing no issue. i run strictly DW's and S04's now...well, other than the remaining yok on my nismo wheels which are going to be replaced soon. |

RE11's appear to have a rubber memory (flat spot) issue from the read. my z only goes out on sunny weekends so that's going to be an issue. if tirerack's going to keep them in-stock instead of the BS that's been going on for the last year of 'yes we will carry' 'no they are discontinued' 'oh wait, we haz more' 'f- they are now discountinued' ' or not' i would get them wrapped on my weds next time around. |
Pilot Super Sport by Michelin 300 treadwear. Great tire with impressive performance and durability.

sounds good. yah, 300 is high, i wonder wat kind of milage people are getting in real world use.
but it appears the audience for this thread is looking for cheap tires... tire that are minimum acceptable on a sports car. |
For a DD that's not expected to see any serious performace driving, the PSS and RE-11 are a bit overkill and costly.
The Conti DW could almost fit into that range as well... I'd say look into the Hankook v12 if you wanted an affordable option. If you were going to stick with bridgestone, forget the stock re050s and go with the S04's as mentioned above. <- Spent 6 years in AZ too. :tiphat: |

V12 would be a good choice on price.

What size tires do you have on the car now?
|
Quote:
oh wait, thats on my dd. :icon17: i run 245/40/19 and 285/35/19's. |

Why so much stagger? :icon14: |
Quote:
wait, you asking me about the stagger in my tire size? those are nismo sizes. :p |
Quote:
Amen, everyone is all over the :nutswinger: of RE-11's but it is completely overkill I run Potenza RE760's now on the Z, more than capable |

I thought Nismo front was 255? Quote:

nismo sizes are 245/40/19 and 285/35/19. :)

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'm gonna go w/ the HTR Z3, for the price seems it cant be beat, and if I did go with the DW's for pricing, will I notice a difference driving? I do drive aggressively every now and then, but other than that its my everyday car.
235/50 18 245/45 18 |
ive not driven the HTR Z3 so can't tell, and at those widths even DW's arent going to stick very well. :icon17: hahaha

Those tires don't look right. I'd go bigger. EDIT:, yeah wrong choice. That's 0.6" difference, to much in my book. Keep it under 0.5". Safely you can go 20% over your width of the wheel. I'd go 245/275 unless you want more square for performance, then maybe a 255 or 265 rear tire. But 245 is max on the front and 275 max on the rear. I'd get a 245/40/18, 265/35/18 or 275/35/18. |

From TireRack: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...ay.jsp?type=MP Quote:
Hankook V12 - $774 for OEM sized set So the price is marginally different. |
just to let you know, i had tirerack install new S04's a couple of weeks ago in 255/35/19 and 285/35/19 sizes on my G's new CV201's... and with labor and tax included, only came out to 946. and i get a 50 gift card from bridgestone, so i pay 896.

re-11's
fuk it. race car |
on a serious note, s-04's are really nice! massively improved ride quality and performance on my mom's Scion TC. would definitely consider on the Z
|
yep, just make sure to get the 285/35/19 or wider. for some reason their 275/35/19 size is narrow. good for hella flusha toilet crowd, but not for me.
|
Quote:
265/35/19 Front 295/30/19 Rears, or drop to 285s in the rear for less stagger. But the 295 sidewall on the PSS is soooo nice on a 10.5 wheel. |
they make them in 245/40/18 but the rears not in that size, what would you pair the back with to the front?
