Default 245 vs 265 fronts

Is the any benefit to a wider front tire? comparing the 245 stock size and the recommended 265 by a lot of people?

only thing i can think of is better grip but wider/heavier front tires = under steer?

can anyone shed some light on this?

I am running a 255/305 setup right now. I will probably be going 265 on my next set of fronts though. Would love to hear from someone who has ran both.

i'm running 265/285 RE-11's right now. i'd probably go 285 up front with a square setup. 245 is too small. not enough grip.

likewise, i just ordered a set of 245, now i am not sure i should change it to 265 instead. Anything wrong with the 255? i know your car has the power to support wider tires for sure

i dont know if i will ever go that high on the front, but 265 would be my max as a DD

You will obviously add a little more weight but it will look better and corner a little better I bet IMO. Are you running 285s in the rear?

The Z is lacking front grip big time. 265 is fine (I have a set of 265/285 front/rear waiting for spring) and will not increase understeer... in fact, it will help to decrease it.

I went with 265 front and 305 rears....there is more grip which makes it seem like there is less under steer. I know there are some running 275 up front, but that seems a little extreme. I was contemplating going smaller in the back to square it up a little more, but I think being turbo charged, moe back tire, moe better!!! Also that combo looks sweet on the car.

You will definitely want those 305s in the rear!

The smaller the difference between your front and rear tire widths, the less your car will understeer.
