I've never been a fan of leaving the suspension at full droop for months at a time. I'd use flat stoppers if it were my car.

Why not? Struts are stored open, and ok, let the tires barely touch, just the tip, lol

Is there a reason you wouldn't want to leave the suspension at rest for long periods?

Scientifically, leaving a spring compressed would affect it's effectiveness in the long run.

I leave mine sitting all the time for up to 6 months in a row with no ill effects. Only thing I do is park the tires on plush carpet to avoid flat spotting the tires. Been doing it for over 30 years with over 100 cars and trucks. Been out on this trip for 94 days, with 30 more to go.
