What's the craze with Work wheels?
I thought they were forged at least... But the set that's for sale shows rotary spun, not even what I'd call high quality...
And they're not light... At all... S1s are 26 lbs or something, VS-XX are about the same... And I honestly think that the S1's are some of the ugliest wheels made, VS-XX I'm ok with. (But this is just my opinion) I don't understand the rave about TE37s (I think the design is very simple), but I understand the weight and respect that. But why are Works $3-4000?

On that note I wanted forgestars so bad I thought they looked amazing and for the price that they are how can you say no. Well I recently saw a few sets In person and was not impressed they did not look as strong and and well made as the $3000+ wheels. Really killed my trip cuz I had my eye on those f14 super deep concaves. And changed my mind after that plus works and works of art there amazing up close.

Forgestars are rotary "forged" and I have seen many sets, can't say they don't "look" strong. They look like wheels to me, and you can't really see the rotary lines in them either, so they get a half a seal of approval by me. And again, Works are $3000-5000, DEFINITELY not as strong as stock wheels, and they weigh more than almost any other wheel... THAT's what I'm not understanding. And at least the TE37s are some of the lightest wheels you can buy (I still dislike the JDM hype about them though)

But when I'm talking about works I'm talking about the 3 piece forged miesters and stuff like that I personally think it looks amazing when they have deep dish set up. I'm also more than certain that works have a more form over function attitude

Form over function, sure, but 3-5k?!?!?!... If it's ONLY for the form, I support Varrstoen.

the Nissan ray's wheels are definitely the way to go. cheaper than the others (1k and under), forged and light weight.

Just another overpriced ugly JDM trend that people drool over.

Not at all. JDM worship has always baffled me.

Lol, yeah, baffles me. But I still kinda understand TE37s. What I don't get is people caring for the variations or NOT wanting the TE37SLs because TE37s are more original even though the SLs are much lighter, and just as strong

Haha, I actually agree with you, OP. In fact I really don't like most aftermarket wheels. Besides the sport package wheels and the NISMO wheels, I like:
& The TL-S wheels are probably some of the best looking OEM wheels, methinks. (Yeah, I know. I have weird taste in wheels.)

How about the Work CR Kiwami?? they are "work flowforming technology" (not to sure what that is lol) but they weight 22-24 lbs from what I found online. I really like the designs for those and they are $2200+ wheels i believe.
