Is it possible them that we hear about Varrstoens that break more often because they're just so much cheaper that more people can afford them? Not because they are actually made worse?

I think the main point of the thread was pointing out the "JDM Tax", not really commenting on aesthetics, since that's going to change from person to person. JDM brands are expensive compared to their competition, and the value often isn't there.
If I'm going to be spending a fortune on wheels, they're going to be forged, and lighter than stock. Some people just want to look good. I don't get it, but as long as you're not trying to put a 225 tire on a 10+ inch wheel, I promise I won't wish death on you and your family.

I'm not sure about Varrstoens, but I'm pretty sure this is half the reason for Rota hate. The other half is the owners putting stickers and center caps on to pass them off as real.

But I disagree... I think 19s are overrated. 15x5 and 15x5.5 is even lighter and they make your car looks slammed to the ground without even spend crazy money on coilovers or bags. Just saying.

try to find some custom wheels you like in the sizes you want and get some quotes, you'll be very surprised. Mine were just shy of 4k for a set, any other wheels I was looking at for the same sizes were all 5k+, some were 7-8k and others even over 10k, now that's stupid.
if you want your wheels to sit flush with the guards while lowered, there is nothing you can buy off the shelf that will fit properly without running spacers, and well spacers are illegal where I'm from anyway. |
