No more Te37 19"?
So I have been on the market looking for Forged Te37 in Matte Black for about 2 months now in 19x9.5+22 and 19x10.5+12. Every shop that I have contacted tells me that they have them only to find out that they only have Te37SL and Tokyo Time Attacks. They tell me that they no longer make the wheels I want in 19" so what am I to do now? I figured alright my only option is to go with SL or TTA (I hate the chrome lip) but now they don't offer the color that I am looking for. Do I look for different wheels? I love the look of the Te37, but this search is near impossible.

If we can get an order of 5 sets we will do a special group buy for the matte black TE37SL if you want.

You can do that as well. We can powder coat for 250 on the set when you purchase a set of wheels with us.

I know that they are "over rated" in some sort, but I do like the design. I was looking at other wheels as well, like HRE but I guess I haven't seen that many Z's with other wheels. And I know I could powder coat any wheel that I get but that's an extra step that I would like to avoid

Yup, just spoke with another shop who contacted Rays and he confirmed that these wheels are discontinued. Not sure if it's just in these dimensions, or just in general but either way I guess I'm gonna have to look elsewhere.

This sucks, but I'm sure they'll be back on the market in a few years; much like the GT-S which made a short-lived comeback. If that's the case, might as well get a used set and just repair and powdercoat them.

Check this out, 19x9.5, 19x10.5 Volk TE37 Time Attack. You can re-finish them the way you wanted.

TE37SL in 18" is a solid pound lighter than the standard TE37, powdercoat is your friend, the SL is cheaper and lighter and planning on being around for a while. If you found one last magical set we'd be talking you down off the ledge the moment one gets curbed.

I'm thinking of just going with SLs even if I may have to powder coat them. I thought about it and I guess I'd rather have a back up just in case something ever were to happen to my wheels. Knock on wood. But knowing if anything happens you don't have a replacement has got to be nervewracking. It sucks that I have to go with something that isn't my ideal setup but oh well, shìt happens. I'll let you guys all know tomorrow what I end up doing, the shop I'm thinking about going through is getting an estimate on custom color and everything so that I may not have to do it myself.
