I've done this with my truck sensors. Problem I have is after about week and a half. I have to put more air into it as it leaks out through the plastic pipe it self. Ended up using metal pipe. Food for thought.

PVC is not very gas permeable. I suspect you had a leaky Schrader valve, threads, joints, &c.

Jeez, making pipe bombs for TPMS? Seems a bit overkill (pun intended)

That depends on the plastic used. At work, I've seen PVC hold hydrogen gas with no problems, then seen it leak through the wall of the PVC using plant air. Go figure.

FWIW, I would consider PVC pipe to be a very poor choice of materials to use in a car. It becomes brittle when cold and soft when warm (max working temperature is only 140F for building grade PVC). If one must use PVC, the method that uses two large caps looks like it would be the strongest.

glad someone else is confused. haha
i guess you put them in the car to fool the car to think you have the sensors in.... no? i guess putting a happy face sticker over the TPMS warning light is too much work. Last edited by fuct; 10-10-2013 at 06:18 PM. |

i was a bit confused at first but I guess it makes sense. you would need 4 of these to get rid of the dash light right?
why not just use the valve stem thats on the tpms as the fitting though? just like how it would work on a wheel. Last edited by paperboy42190; 10-10-2013 at 06:40 PM. |
