vibration probs with wheel spacers
I was just wondering if those who installed ichiba version 1 spacers have the 19" stock rays wheels. I had them on my car and got vibrations from them. I went to a shop and we compared them to another exact set and found no defects. They also checked for install issues and found none. We took the spacers off and the problem went away. Can anyone suggest another brand that I can try that definitely works w/the rays wheels?

I have vibrations I am trying to work out too. I took the rear spacers off, but not the front, as the new studs don't want to come back out too easily, and I don't have any open end lugnuts, so I was just going to wait until I got my track wheels and see what happens with them before doing anything else.

There are quite a few guys here that have the Ichiba spacers, I was thinking about getting them myself. The title of this thread needs to be changed from "spacers" to "hubcentric spacers causing vibration", or something similar, to get everyone's attention. No offense, but the thread title makes everyone think it is another generic spacer thread. I would love to see more discussion on this from other Ichiba users.

Well, I just bought a set of 4 rear 350Z Rays track wheels and have sent them off to Weldcraft for widening. Should be 2-3 weeks til I get them and get the track tires mounted, then we will see if I have the same vibrations with 2 different sets of wheels. If I do, I will get some open ended lugnuts for the track wheels so I can take the spacers off and still use the long studs, and see if it vibrates without the spacers.

I am looking into wheel spacers..Ichiba. Would also like to hear from more of any issues. I may have to spring for the extra $$ and go with H&R wheel spacers.
Does the OP indicate what size spacers he is using? Subscribing |
I don't think he does, but I am running 15mm in the front with longer studs. Not running any in the rears. Should have my new wheels in 2-3 weeks to try another set and see if its tires or spacers.

Darn, and I was hoping you were going to say 20mm in the front. Well I am going to have to sit on the fence until someone finds out if its the spacers or what causing the vibration.
fyi...Minicobra1 (Braden) is also running 15mm in the front. A blip on this issue has been posted to his Eibach thread. Hopefully he will chime in with some feedback. g/l on the new wheels, keep us posted. Thx Curtis |
Ichiba 15mm front (Type 1) and 15 rear (type 2)...
No issues at all... http://images52.fotki.com/v1554/phot...MG_2005-vi.jpg http://images49.fotki.com/v855/photo...MG_2003-vi.jpg |
I have used spacers numberous times and am currently. All you need to do is make sure you have version 2 with the extended studs already attached to the spacer and hubcentric rings....thats it.
But from what I remember you HAVE TO get V1 for the front? |
