Trunk pieces.. Different for a base and a sport?
I just got a Sport Spare tire be because i installed a BBK and when swapping it out with my Base spare, the foam trunk pieces don't fit with the sport spare... The trunk mat doesn't sit flush anymore and is now slightly lifted...

Makes sense, the whole point of the sport package spare tire is to have a different offset, so the middle piece will have to be shorter. Shave the foam down

Sounds like you need to spin the disk down further under the foam maybe? That spindle is what regulates the height of the carpet and such.
|
What disk are you talking about?

Oh that's another issue. The screw doesn't reach the threads...

Somewhat OT. I just got my roadster in May so I haven't thought much about a spare. Is the spare a full-size tire and wheel or the little doughnut? All I have now is the can of squirtum.

It's a doughnut

donut or doughnut?

All kidding aside, I'm curious if the foam cone for the sport is shorter than the cone for the base...

I only have the base non-sport foam pieces. I'm not sure how I could compare it with sport foam pieces if I don't have them, hence the reason why I started this thread in the first place! I'm asking to see if others who have upgraded their non-sport spare tire to a sport spare tire have had the same issue!
