Track Day Wheel Options
 

Hi guys,

I'm losing hope in finding a square setup that will clear the akebonos without a spacer in the front. I would rather not run a spacer for track days. I also have the sport akebonos. I am wanting to stick with 18" wheels (as I already have 275/40/18 sticky tires). Trying to get a decent and fairly cheap wheel to use -
I REALLY wish enkei rpf01 or nto3 would fit without spacers but need spacers for those guys. Any other options? If not I'll bread down with CCWs.

I am now entertaining the concept of a staggered setup so I can get a different offset up front / spoke design to clear those damn big calipers and fill out the back wheel well. Not looking to go over stock widths of wheel.

and ideally something I wouldn't have to get extended studs just to bolt the wheel on.


(Not that extended studs arn't a bad thing on the track).

Anyone know if 9.5" TC015N - R will clear?

Think those would work in the back too with that high of an offset? I'm not an aesthetics person, but just want to make sure they arn't sunken in 8 inches :)

There are no issues running spacers at the track I run 18x10.5 +30 nt03 w 20mm spacer in the rear for 1.5 years no issues and I rotate wheels/tires for longer wear

Rpf1 18x9.5+15, 18x10.5+15

I also run spacers, in the front, with the +45 wheel, 20mm spacer.

Running spacers at the track gives me the heebie jeebies. That said, it would save me about $1200 haha

If spacers are installed correctly, you should have ZERO issues. And IMO, bolt ons are MUCH better than stud replacement.

Before you ask:
You can never get replacement studs on as tight as OEM.
The longer the stud, the easier to bend/break.

I also read back in the day Porsche race cars ran some ginormous spacers.

thats why you get stronger then stock extended studs like ARP or Nismo studs.
Alot of time attack and wheel to wheel race cars run various spacers for certain wheels. when done correcty, no issues

i run them all the time. sometimes I use spacers for looks, but lately I haven't been using the spacers.
