Besides ignorance, your lack of humility is just as palpable.

I never questioned the logic of powder coating, just gave my reasons for having my wheels painted. I don't have to break down a wheel to fix a chip; Dr. Colorchip works just fine with the wheel on the car.

I've spent a lot of time on the Atlantic coastline in Florida and never had a problem with salt erosion on the paint. My cars are kept washed and waxed.

Instead of throwing a bunch of absolutes out there as fact, why not engage the rest of us in conversation? Ignorant arrogance is not a virtue.

painted wheels work fine for me.

factory wheels, aftermarket wheels.


only once did i have issues with BBS wheels made at that ASA korea plant. bubbles in the paint. actually i had another winter wheel set i had for my dd made at the same plant with clearcoat issues...

Bought before I knew the real story. Didn't know a plus 30k car couldn't turn corners when it was labeled as a sports car. And now since all our cars are worthless because of the $3600 price drop, looks like I'm stuck with it. So rpf1's are installed, clear bra will be applied, better oil cooler, better LSD, fuel pump system etc. I'm not going to be with a car I'm forced to, to have it break down, peel, over heat and die.

I don't support anything plasti-dip

These are my wheels that I had painted 5 years ago, still look new due to the care that I take when I wash them



Benfits of painting over powdercoat is really in the finish, but I have been told powdercoat is more durable.

Personally I prefer paint..

Can't blame Nissan entirely for your that, it's their supplier.

What you're experiencing has happened to alot of people regardless of wheel manufacturer, normally it's due to someone using improper wheel cleaner or excessive tire dressing so the clear coat is stripped

You could sand them down and reclear them yourself and this won't happen again

Realized that 40th wheels would be more of a lateral move. Will probably look for some after market ones that I like. Found these today and think they're pretty nice. It also comes in a machined gunmetal finish.

24lbs front, 25lbs rear is what hey emailed me for the weights for their 19" wheels. That's only 1-2lb more than stock rays so not bad. These aren't forged, though, but I don't really track much and if I do, I don't think it's really hard enough (I suck, it's just for fun, nto chasing times) for that to really matter.

meh, those are 8.5" and 9.5" widths... less metal yet weighs more.

too narrow imo for Z's. okay for maybe G37C or sedans.

They would actually be either 9.5 square or 8.5 front, 10 rear. But my friend has talked me out of them since they are low pressure cats so not as strong. I will probably save up and wait to see if this is just an impulse thing and if not, maybe get the Rays Gramslite 57xtreme. Or I might put my money into headers if z1 ever gets the HR flange on and we het some good reviews/dynos.
