patching would be fine, i removed a good 3 inch sharp metal shard from my rear tire and around the same area. No problems at all, luckily i didn't have

patching would be fine, i removed a good 3 inch sharp metal shard from my rear tire and around the same area. No problems at all, luckily i didn't have to throw a good $200 to waste .
