Patch or Replace?

Is this too close to the sidewall to patch? The guy at the local tire place said it was borderline and was afraid to do the repair since I made

Patch or Replace?

Is this too close to the sidewall to patch? The guy at the local tire place said it was borderline and was afraid to do the repair since I made it very clear that the wheel is flawless and wanted it to remain that way. I wasn't sure if I should take it someplace else or just order another one. Also, this is a Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Position with around 4K miles. Thank you in advance for the feedback.
