So I only drive the car in spring summer and fall, what's my best option for tires? I want something a little better than the factory had on, I am thinking bridgestone RE11s Last edited by boomboom; 06-26-2013 at 03:25 AM. |

Well the RE-11 won't last 25k miles without doing that either. Probably would wear down to the cables a lot sooner too.

25k and have you ever had an alignment done since? You should be getting an alignment done every 6 months to a year. Especially with how we have some negative camber from factory, it'll minimize the camber wear but you will get it to some extent. And Darkjak is correct, RE11's are a softer compound so they will wear a little faster. But some people get some good wear out of the RE11's but it will likely last you 15k, 20k at best.

I got almost 22 on my car before I replaced em. Don't get Michelin PSS they handle like crap in the rain.

That is remarkable, friend. Camber-wear ate right through your rubber. Threads on my stock tires were showing through after 2 cross-country road trips, but nothing like that.

I've had the exact opposite experience with my PSS tires. Had them on about 6K miles now and they handle great in the rain. Much better than stock and very close to how they handle dry roads.

I would never let my tires get to that point. IMO you should be paying closer attention to your tires. They are too important to the safe operation of your vehicle for you to let them go like that.

I'm speechless. I can't believe you waited that long to change your tires. Do you not inspect them for wear?

You don't even need to "inspect" anything to know that's not right. A quick glance as you walk by will tell you that tire is shot, and the alignment is way off.
