You the man.

Had to look at my calendar to see if it wasn't April 1st.

I'm speechless. I can't believe you waited that long to change your tires. Do you not inspect them for wear?

I can believe this thread made it to this many before someone brought this up...

Like wtf are you thinking. I would never run my car like that. You are asking for problems. This is just upsetting :ugh2:

Guys I only drive the car a few miles a week . I knew the tires needed replacing but as of a week ago I never saw the marks on the tire like it has now.

Long story short I have been helping a friend with her divorse and baught her a suv helped with rent lawyer fees ectect..so tires had to wait til now. Like I said I have driven the car only when I had to in the last year so I knew they needed to be replaced, I was surprised to see the weird marks on the 1 tire is why I started this thread.

Sorry OP, this forum is filled with gearheads that inspect their oil after 2 days of changing it and regularly replace parts that 'hint' of wear.... For someone to not notice their tire is about to detonate and then blame it on being busy and only driving once in a while.... you're in the wrong forum!

It is YOUR responsibility to inspect your vehicle regularly for wear and damage to keep it and you safe! I hope this teaches you something about regular maintenance... no hate, just don't feel sorry for your lack of maintenance....

Not throwing rocks here, but you dodged a bullet. It's a good thing you didn't wad the car up with a tire like that. You were playing blowout roulette. Buy a tire and a tread depth gauge, and consider it a lesson learned.

You mean...the fact you have ZERO tread depth wasn't alarming it was the marks that worried you? Its just a safety thing. Remember you aren't the only one out there on the road is all im saying. All it would take is a little rain and your car would be sliding all over the place with tires like that.

Kenchan not really sure what thats all about but ya I totally have learned and am still learning lessons. The car has been sitting not really getting my attention yet this year is all im saying. I am very good at keeping the car in shape and making sure its running great and has regular maintenance done but I admitt I know zero about tires, rotors and pads. I will learn from this forum though I promise that.

Its hard to know with so many opinions out there what tires pads and rotors to grab. I am gonna switch everything out I dont like the looks of the stock rotors. Gonna add better lines also. Please let me know if this setup is a good option.

CZP 370Z Brake Kit w/ Centric Posi-Quiet Pads, Akebono Sport Model - Nissan performance parts

I really like what I have read about the RE11 tire so far.

Well you should know that regular maintenance includes tire inspection (pressure, tread depth, and wear). Brakes and tires are two of the most important safety items and should be near the top of your list when it comes to maintenance. I hope you do learn from this forum, as there is a lot of good information to be found :tiphat: Using the information found on this forum along with the service manual which I downloaded from this forum I changed my front rotors and pads and did a brake flush for the first time last week on my own with my own tools in my own garage (I admit I borrowed a motive power bleeder for the brake flush).

I have heard good things about the Posi-Quiet pads for DD and the price is right. Centric rotors are fine and the ATE brake fluid is solid. I like the ATE because I can swap between the SuperBlue and the 200 (which is gold in color) and easily tell when the brakes are bled. Motul has some better options for heavy track duty. You might consider PMing some of the forum sponsors for comparable pricing. Most of the guys you can just tell them the type of driving you want to do and they'll steer you in the right direction (Joe@Zspeed is awesome!).

+1

This is insane. I don't know how the laws work in the US but in the UK you'd be fined and have points on your licence for that. For one you must be either blind or totally oblivious to your car, and secondly did it not handle like utter crap?! I replaced my stocks at 9k with the minimum limit in the UK of 1.6mm and the car didn't handle well, rear end kicking out when overtaking etc. Shocking, buy a Kia or something.
