5mm spacers on Varrstoen ES2.2.2 not enough?
 

I test fitted my front wheels today 19x9.5 +22, with a 5mm spacer and they still scrape my caliper. Has anyone run into this issue? What is the biggest spacer i can put on without replacing the studs?

depends on the wheel because some wheels are thicker at the lug bore than others.

from my experience, 5mm is the max i use on aftermarket wheels that are lug-centric with no problems. steel lugs only (muteki makes great steel lugs) and using 80-85ft/lbs.

ive read 10mm of thread is required which is usually 6-8 turns depending on the pitch of the thread. use this info at your own risk.

never use 5mm spacers on factory wheels since they are hubcentric. the spacer pushes the wheel outward off the hub.

That's weird, I thought those were the ideal sizes/offsets for the fronts if you have TE's and since ES2.2.2 have the same design, they should be good.

I think the TE37's might have a slightly smaller lip, so they clear the brakes, but with the 5mm spacer, the wheels just barely hits the calipler, it will still turn but not without scraping the paint off the caliper, i have the sport brakes btw.

offset and caliper clearance are two very different parameters.

this is why when you buy wheels you have to check back spacing.

for example, when you buy multi-piece wheels (your wheels is one piece), you get several options with offset, back spacing, and lip width.
