Falken FK453 Review

(My work computer won't let me to the tire website anymore... wtf?)

Anyone tried these (or any falken in general)? They seem like they could be a decent bang for the buck.

Not a bad price for all 4. I have not rid Falken’s on my Z but I don’t dislike them. Might give them a shot when my stock tires are toasted. I have rid on Falken 912’s and the 512’s with no issues on my other car. They do have a drift team and they are known so why not.

I have Falkens on my REARS. Base 18's with 275s added. For 2 tires + install I paid $380 at discount tire.

They grip like a beast! I used to lose traction in 2nd gear, now I just pull away and grips nicely..

Great rear tires in my opinion.

Falkens are good tires for grip but anyone that I know that has used them complains about tread life being shorter than Bridgestones or Hankooks

I have Falken FK452's that I've had on a few months now. No complaints, I'm on the stock 18's but running 245/45 in the front and 275/40 in the rear. Been real happy with it so far. Grip good, minor snow, pretty good. rain, awesomely stable. dry grip is really good too. I think these are all seasons.

Thanks much for the input guys!

From what I understand the 452 is more of an all-season tire and the 453 is a summer tire. I will be going with the 453 if I go Falken as I don't daily my car, but at the same time I want the tires to last longer than a year and a half. I'm currently running Bridgestone Potenza S04s.

Depends on the kind of rubber.

If its an all season they probably aren't particularly sticky. They'll probably be fine, but expect less traction.

How are the sidewalls on the Falken summer tires? i'm looking for a less expensive alternative that still has good characteristics.

I think the best bang for the buck tire in the Max Performance Summer tire category most are going to say the Conti DW's. I would say the Falken's are probably on par with the Hankook's depending on how stiff the sidewalls are in comparison. A middle of the road tire and cheap. A set of Hankook's are $706 right now on Tire Rack with the mail in rebate.

Another I would consider is the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's. You would have to change up sizing by what they are available in. Could run 255 up front and 285 rear and come out to $852 a set after mail in rebate. These placed just behind the S-04's in reviews but also cheaper.

You already know I chose to try the BFG gForce Sport Comp2's since I still daily my Z I need a little more life out of the rears. Just had them put on Friday so plan on doing a review of them after ZdayZ.
