the amount of driving i do, i dont mind the shorter life cause it's either motoring fun, or dry rotting i prefer motoring fun.

if you want longer life, i suggest you get the DW's. those wear well. but you do loose some wet weather grip and the steering feedback.
Well, I got 28k miles from the stock tires. The Z is mostly a spirited DD for me. If I can get 25k miles with the S-04s I'm fine.

I just ordered a set of 4 stock sized S04s for $804 via tirerack. 245 front and 275 rears. And it comes with a $50 off coupon so its $754. Shipping and mounting/balancing are extra but still quite the deal!

Looks like I'll have to fight for the $50 rebate since bridgestone and tirerack took down the webpages to get the promo code and submit the rebate. Rather stupid as the offer stated tires purchased from like mid Nov through midnight Dec 31 qualified but then on Jan 1 they take the sites down to get the rebate submitted. :-(

Couldn't wait on tax time so jumped on these through tirerack. Got them in stock size for $864 shipped to my door. Really digging the wide rain channels on them and can't wait to have them mounted.

I bought the s04 a few years ago for my g35 coupe. I was absolutely extremely impressed with them. Just got a 370z and am now thinking if these or pss to replace stock.

I will be putting a set of these on my Z this weekend. How has the tread life been on these tires so far for this who have posted in the last year?

I had these installed on Friday of last week. Tires have a lot of grip but not quite as good as the OEM yokohama advans. Road noise has reduced as well. Impressed so far and will update mileage life on these tires. I have the base model with the 18's and they cost me about $740 for the set installed.

Mileage has been great for me I've put about 6k on them and have noticed little wear. They seem to be wearing more evenly especially in the back. THe stock tires wore on the shoulders more than the inside on the rear which was weird considering they had negative camber. I expect the S04s should last me 25-30k as I got 15k on the oem potenzas. The only downside with the S04s in my mind it seems that the initial turn in on high speed lane changes is a little sloppy or delayed not crisp and immediate like the stock potenzas. The S04s seem to be much grippier in temps below 50F too. For the price its a really great tire.

yah, unlike the S03s and RE050A's, the S04's do in fact grip better at lower temps.

in related info, Advans suckarse under 50F... holy hell dorifuto tires.

I don't know what it is about the compound of the S-04 but I'm finally able to smoothly peel out from a standstill. Before with the RE050A and disappointing Hankook V12's, there would be horrible wheel hop like the car was breaking apart. Those tires were able to peel if I got them hot enough after some spirited driving on a hot summer day, but otherwise wheel hop for days.
Also, I don't know if it's a coincidence that the VLSD is giving out or the added grip of going 285mm with the S-04 is making it difficult to execute drifts now. I find myself spinning out more frequently and maintaining the drift requires a different amount of throttle.
