Comming Soon Yokohama AD08R

Looks like Yokohama decided to tweak their AD08 tire with a different rubber compound. Everything I can find speculates that it will have a 140 tread wear rating. It would be interesting to see what that 520hp 86 runs with a track setup instead of a drift setup.

Hopefully they don't fail as miserably as Bridgestone with their RE-11a sizing...:shakes head: I was so disappointed.

You can get the RE-11's in 305/30/19. It's roughly the same OD as a 275/35/19. With stock height it shouldn't rub.

I read about this about two weeks. I love my current AD08's. Great tires hands down.

RE-11's are different from the RE-11a's. RE-11a's have a new and better tread compound. Plus I have 18's :tiphat:

Yeah the RE11 18s sizing blows. I told them that too when i was still sponsored by Bridgestone for time attack. We'll see if the RE11A gets better wide 18 sizing

I don't expect it Clint for sizing....I've talked to the Brigestone Reps that communicate with us at Costco. They said the RE-11a's are just planning to cover the most common RE-11 sizes. For the rest they are going to stay with the RE-11's so the RE-11's will not be discontinued other then for those sizes that are being replaced by the RE-11a's. The pricing is down significantly though on them right now at Costco. 275/40R18's at $263.52/tire and the 275/35R18's at 259.99/tire. Down about $30 a piece.

im running 285/35/18 sqaure, and thats the minimal OD i like, 275/35/18 makes the car really low, and im not even low on my coilover settings

06PlatinumG 05-01-2013 12:35 AM

I contacted Yokohama and they said there are no plans to bring these to the US at this time.

06PlatinumG 06-15-2013 12:37 AM

Now acordding to Tire Rack they will be released this summer, more information in July

Merlinshawn 06-23-2013 07:39 PM

Tirerack.com has listed it on their website, but they have only put up one tire size right now.

Well the good news is that based on the one size they will be the same price as the old ones. They are suppose to have all the same sizes as before. I'm sure will see more sizes soon.

06PlatinumG 06-26-2014 07:02 PM

Well those of you thinking about them I can tell you since I replaced my AD08 with AD08R's two months ago I have been to 2 tracks and set personal best times. Lap times are down 1 to 2 seconds. Also I have won all of the Auto-X events since in my class, use to be close but I have won the last 4 events by over a 2 seconds.
