The Nitto NT05 tires seem to be getting really good reviews. Has anyone tried those? I am still on stock with about 4000 miles of moderate driving and they still look new. When I saw the 140 treadwear rating I got a little nervous thinking they would last 8000 miles or so but the are holding up pretty well.

For new tires I want to like the Nitto tires but back when I had a turbo AWD Mitsubishi everyone raved about the Nittot NT550 tires so I got them and didn't like them. The sidewall flex was much more than whatever the factory tires were. The stuck fine but I always seemed like I was leaning or slipping when I entered a turn. But these are different tires, different sizes and 10 years later so a lot is different.

I have the NT05's on mine, probably some of the best street tires out. 285/35's, btw, these sit comfortably on 9" wide base 18's.

I'm hoping to get at least 20k out of them for just street driving. Overall they have been great, much better than the junk tires that were on my 2005 350Z.

When I get new tires, I'll likely be going with these.

I was also thinking about getting the Nitto NT05. I like the reviews of the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. They are supposed to be excellent on dry and wet pavement.

NT05's are actually great for track use as well! I have a pair of NT01's for drag days, basically street legal slicks, f'in love em.

Red370 I see you have the NT05. I've read a lot of good reviews on this tire and I'm thinking about putting them on my Z. I noticed you have 285 on the stock 18x9. I am wondering do the NT05 run thin? I have the 19" Rays the NT05 for the 19" come in the OEM sizes 275/35/19 rear and 245/40/19 front. I think the Bridgestone RE050A that my Z came with to be a bit stretched over the wheel and can't image running a narrower tire. On another note how do the hook up on the street, compared to the NT01? Need some more traction here!

I've had the RE-11's on all year. In general they rock, more grip and less squeal than the RE-50A's. Slightly less grip than the RE-50A's at low temperatures until you get some heat in to the tires. Despite the reduced grooving I came 0.1 seconds away from taking raw FTD at a wet auto-x with these. The bad news is that auto-x is rounding over the edges on my front tires pretty badly. Overall tire wear is pretty good though, better than the Star Specs I had on the G35. I think you could easily get 20K+ miles on these without auto-x or track.

have you tried increasing the air pressure? or maybe get an alignment with a bit more camber/caster?
