Vertini Wheels...you vote!

So I'm considering getting a set of Vertini wheels this year (after all this sucky snow goes away of course) and cant decide between the 2 so I thought I would put it out there for opinions.

Not feeling it.

TaylorRyan370 02-05-2013 02:56 PM

I like some of the wheels Vertini makes, but what kills it for me is the Vertini logo on the spoke and the cheesy Vertini Racing thats around the edge where the fake bolts are.

bullitt5897 02-05-2013 04:32 PM

Get a true 3 piece wheel! Save up for it... You will like it in the long run! Or get a nice CNC forged 1 piece wheel!

Jasonle 02-05-2013 04:43 PM

I was going to get the vertini drift... I really like those!

Waiz 02-05-2013 07:14 PM

How about saving up for the legit Volk GT-S instead of this heavier knockoff?

Where do I vote for that? lol

Roadster4Us 02-05-2013 07:18 PM

The Drifts are a nice wheel.

TaylorRyan370 02-05-2013 07:30 PM

Btw I am not knocking the brand, I am putting reps on my car when I get it. Just not a fan of the lettering on the wheel. I prefer the drift out of those two.

NickD 02-05-2013 07:44 PM

im not a fan of the lettering on the wheels either. i was gonna see about removing it if i decide to go for those.

enkei2k 02-05-2013 07:47 PM

I don't like any wheel in particular, but I voted 'Fairlady' for obvious reasons being obvious

Something along the lines of a proper 3 piece wheel will do your car more justice... Here is an example of custom offset and proper fitment:

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...8b2c_bcopy.jpg
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...8769_bcopy.jpg
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...a85f_bcopy.jpg
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...c1aa_bcopy.jpg

Whether it is a concave or a regular face wheel make sure they provide the right offset! Also quality goes along way!

bullitt5897 02-07-2013 07:24 AM

Those are 10 and 11's if I remember correctly with the rears having a zero offset... This will give you the ability to still run 305's and have a big lip 5.5"+.

They sure look like Volks GT40 knock-offs (those on the blue car)

bullitt5897 02-07-2013 08:48 AM

6MT... That was an original design... I have seen the cad drawings myself. Also the spokes are not even in thickness (they taper and are a mesh design) all the way through. Also gt40's aren't concave.... Back on topic.

Osiris 02-07-2013 10:24 AM

- 5 spoke wheels on the Z show too much of what's behind the wheel IMO
- Silver lip gives appearance that the wheel is actually smaller than it is

Not a fan of either

I would be all about those if they were in the same price range lol. I'm not looking to spend $5000 on wheels though.

bullitt5897 02-07-2013 01:43 PM

I feel ya bro... That's why I say save up. You can get regular forging wheels for around $4k even Japanese 2 piece wheels are $4k now a days... So darn expensive!

Waiz 02-07-2013 01:47 PM

Plenty of Japanese options wayyyy less than $4k brand new

There are also a ton of used options too, no reason to settle for the lower quality knockoffs

Even used wheels are $3500 which i can barley justify since I don't know who hit a pot hole and who didn't and there is always some kind of chip/scratch on them. If i spend that much on something i want it perfect.

What Japanese options are there for wayyyy less???

I understand this
I can't justify 3-5k for wheels, especially when I think the stock rays are sexxxy

I just don't care for the choices you've posted, they look tacky.

If I'm saving up for something expensive... it's twin turbos. :)

$3,500 for used wheels? Where are you looking?

Expect to pay around $2,500-$3,000 (with tires)

You could also go with an new option like Enkei RPF1's or SSR Type-F's and not have to break the bank to run a set on your car

Edit: here are some examples of correct pricing:

I was originally looking for the Volk GT-S/GT-C and I fell into the mindset of, "Why spend so much for a wheel" and almost got the Vertini Drifts in Gold. However, I ultimately did snag a nice set of GT-S off these forums, courtesy of Chris for around 2k.

If you don't wanna fork out the monies for a serious wheel brand, but you want something that looks nice and will get the communities approval check out the Avant Garde M350:

Not crazy about either.

And Vertini sounds like it should come in a glass with an olive.
