g-Force Sport COMP-2 reviews?
Any of you guys used these tires? Good for daily driving? Pros and cons compared to the Hankook V12's?

I had these on the old rsx type s and loved them... until I got the v12's. I'm near in need for a third set of rears for the z and would like to hear if anyone has used the sport comps yet.

The tread rating on these comp-2's is higher than the V12's but I am reading a few reviews saying they wore out pretty quickly... Anyone have any input on that?

I had the first comps. My bad lol still probably a good tire. In this price range though, the bridgestone re760 is a very nice tire, aside from slight noise, but still tons quieter than the stock tires. I have them now and love them, especially the predicable break-away point!

I have sport comp 2's on my G coupe and I'm extremely impressed. Even when I first bought them I wanted to test their limits due to what I heard about them. I took a hard right turn at 45 in second gear and gave it the hammer, not even a squeal. Straight line acceleration on the street is the same, unless you are launching hard at 4k it will just grab and go. I was looking for a good tire for the price between the v12 and the pss and the sport comp2 is just that. I had nth KDW2's and Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas as well on my old Z and these school them hard. For track work I can't comment, but for the street you would have to do some very unsafe stupid stuff to reach these tires limits.

if you researched on various types of tire websites you would be able to educate yourself on things like COMPOUND NUMBER. That has a lot to do with how much mileage you will get out of it. The lower the number the softer the tire and obiviously the higher the number the harder the compound. I suggest you take some time to educate yourself on what type of tires are available for your car, consider your driving characteristics and monitor your psi's and treadwear pattern. I have almost 30k out of my re760 fronts, rears I got 23k out of because I like powering through corners.

Here's my personal review after having these on for three days including rainy weather.
First thing I noticed was vague steering. Steering wheel feels much lighter. Not accustomed to it yet so I'm over reacting a tad. They track very well but due to less road feel you really need to concentrate just a bit more to stay straight. They added a feeling of softness that I wasn't expecting. They absorb imperfections well but you still feel it in the chassis. They are noisy at speeds around 37mph and below. I mean, much louder than the oem yokes. Handling through turns. Took my first major hard left today after some good break in time. Very confident feeling. Not a squeal. No complaints. No issues. Felt rather glued. But navigating that turn with less road feel is just a little odd. Rain... Didn't notice any issues whatsoever. They were still really new at that time so I didn't try to get on em too much. But they never let loose or hydroplaned. The rim protector is almost nonexistent. I kinda liked having more rubber there. But I don't run my wheels over curbs so it shouldn't be a problem. Just looks a little funny. The tires being equal size to oem are rather meaty. I'm going to put them through the paces this weekend and I'll follow up with a "spirited" driving review to more appropriately describe the effectiveness of these tires. |
