Newest Member of the Pilot Super Sport Club!
Somehow managed 31k out of the stock Potenzas! (Long Interstate commute to work, mostly) Could have probably stretched a few thousand more out of them had I paid closer attention to how bad the alignment was getting. Little tread left on the outside, not even touching the wear indicators on the inside. Oops. :icon17:
Been putting new ones off through the holidays, but last straw was finding a screw in the left front a week ago. Had Discount Tire order me a fresh set of Pilot Super Sports after reading all the glowing reviews here and other places, and thus far I have to agree! I'm taking it easy on them until I get it aligned tomorrow morning, but they are definitely quieter on the Interstate. Ride quality noticeably better too. So far I'm quite impressed! So...in honor of the new tires and a new camera in the toybox...enjoy a few pics! :D http://web.comporium.net/~dws44/370Ztires1.jpg http://web.comporium.net/~dws44/370Ztires2.jpg http://web.comporium.net/~dws44/370Ztires3.jpg http://web.comporium.net/~dws44/370Ztires4.jpg A couple of the whole thing, too: http://web.comporium.net/~dws44/370Z-4.jpg http://web.comporium.net/~dws44/370Z-5.jpg  |
Congrats http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/smilies/banana.gif What sizes did you go with?

Pic of 31k Potenzas? Congrats on the new rubber, I'm at 14k now and the PSS are on the list. Thanks for the pics! Clean Z too!

When I bought my car with 14k miles the alignment was "in spec" but the rubber on the rear was 1-2/32nds on the inside and 5/6-32nd on the outside Currently with another 16k it's a bit better, but I drive harder than the previous owner and I'm on Yokohama SDrives... Going to take it for another 2-3k miles and call it quits |

Like I said, mostly just miles from a long daily interstate commute. Kinda suprised I got that much life out of them. I generally go pretty easy on it, other than the occasional burst of speed on 77/485, or takeoff from a light. I'm not the type to go drifting around interstate on-ramps or anything like that. :icon17: |
i agree. i had some bald dunlop sp sports, switched to pss. aslong as i have the money, probably will never switch to anything else
|
Where is Mr. Onzedge
|
Not sure I can stomach going to Michelin. Always told myself I'd never buy Michelin after their fiasco in F1 in Indy and all but killing the USGP (yeah, I hold a grudge).

Another set of PSS for the win. The tire changes the car. If you are even remotely interested, find someone with them and drive em. Never ever going back. Im putting these on the GTI this summer. Both machines on PSS!!!
Nice car and pics. Great looking Z-Roadster. Really nice! |

Okay... how much have you guys dropped on a set of PSS? I have them already installed on some Volk TE37SL and I want to get a new set before the treads began to disappear....

Mine were $1475, including mount/balance, for stock sizes.

I love these tires, completely changed the car for me. Do you guys know if not having LSD effects me on the street even on launches and fast turning?
|
How did yall transport the tires to the shop? I could barely fit 2 tires in mine

I didn't want to start a whole new thread but was wondering what mileage people are getting on the PSS? I am in the market for a new set and these are on the shopping list, but I need some tires that will last a bit longer than the stockers without sacrificing all of their grip.

I think it is going to be a routine of replacing rears twice for every front replacement. |
I've been dying to get my hands on a set of these, just so expensive!
|
Lakeshow --- They are pricey but way better than v12's or RE's and what not. I got mine for a very good deal that lot's of shops could not match. The closest was within 100 bucks installed.

Just got mine put on last week :) I bought them from tirerack.com, saved me almost $300 installed vs Costco. First time I ordered tires online, gonna order online from now on.
