Questions about wheel repair

The problem: I have Nismo wheel which I curbed on accident because of a fogged up window. It's a long story. No dents or bends just some really bad rash on the lip.

1. Is it even worth it to fix them
2. Does anyone know of a good shop that can repair and powder coat my wheels (shipped to and from since Madison sucks *** for car services)

Honestly if the curb isnt bad I would do a bondo repair and then send them to mike here on the forum for some premium powdercoating.

I cant say from personal experience but there are a crap ton of threads on forums(use at your own risk) of people doing this. Its just what ive seen and nothing more.lol Im pretty good at not curbing my wheels

hummmm.... ive done spot bondo and repaint using wheel paints at home which turned out great, but never powder coat after bondo.

Just looked into it a little bit and a few powerdercoating shops are saying to not use it as the powder wont stick to it. Cant find anything regarding heat...yet haha. But if you can apply a primer over the bondo I wonder if it will stick better then. OP should become labrat.

mmmm.... interesting. regardless, i would use paint instead of powder coat if bondo'ed....just to be on the safe side.

^Mine are painted too. Zero compaints here as far as nicks or scratches go.

I guess paint is an option. I was just under the impression that paint looks worse.

I've actually never been in any kind of accident ever. I once hit a deer in a very old car, but I don't really count that as those are really hard to avoid sometimes. But yea I got cold at a stop light and turned the heat on and bam insta fog as the light turns green. Result is I end up curbing :/

Just want to get them repaired for spring, or get rid of them and get news ones. I would prefer just to repair them. The stock wheels aren't that bad IMO.

EDIT: So did some searching and heat apparently does effect bondo.

Personally, I've had my wheels repaired and I would recommend you taking them to a wheel repair shop. They would fix it properly and would also give you a piece of mind and the wheel would be practically brand new again. With that said, the going price here to fix a wheel that's badly 'rashed', would cost you about $100 and I'm in Florida. Good luck.

hey I recently got my curb rash fix[dealership messed it up], and I was just wondering how many days does it need to sit for curing before I can clean them? I forgot to ask the dealership, but they haven't been picking up my calls to let me know. Wondering if you had a general idea of how many days it takes.

Hell yeah it is! Check my before and after pics. Search for Son Tran. Mine look brand new!

No man...don't do all that. Find a good, I'm mean really good mobile repair guy...the kind that works on high-end cars. Two Nismo Rims with Rash + 1 hour at the location of my choice (in this case work) + $150 + Son Tran = brand new freaking Nismo Rims. I challenge anyone to find the rash on my rims. Search Son Tran Cuban on the forum for before and after pics. I'd post them but I'm traveling.

Follow the link and click on locations and see if there is a guy near you and he will go to you. The guy that we use at the dealership I work at is awesome. And it's pretty cheap. They can match pretty much any painted finish.
