Anyone have any experience with Toyo T1Rs? Just found a killer deal on some 345s to replace my Nittos.

Yes, I have had the T1R and the (Proxes One). Both are very good tires. The T1R is not a balanced and soft as the Proxe one. They are decent for a sports car, but I think they are best on a sedan. They are not as soft or precise. They made my steering wheel feel numb. Best way I can describe it. YMMV, plus $ is always a factor, they are definatley one of the top 10 tires made.

I personally like the Hankook Venus Evo over the T1R. I had the T1S and T1R, and the R is definitely an improvement. As others mentioned, grip isn't the best. I didn't like the sidewalls either as it was a bit on the soft side. The Hankook sidewalls are also a bit soft so I finally replaced them with Continental DWs. So far so good for the money.

T1R’s are a great value and are great in the rain. However, they have noticeably softer sidewalls than the RE050A’s. When I swapped a set of RE050A’s with a set of T1R’s on my old G35 they felt downright dangerous.
Some of it may have been attributable to the mold release compound but they felt that way for a while. Eventually (after about 1500 miles), either I got used to them or they scrubbed in enough to feel comfortable. Let me know what your impressions are. Also, they look damn good IMHO.

Can't wait to see what you come up with. You're the reason I went with the set up I have.
