Wheel Spacer Experiences.

Just curious to those that use wheel spacers, Did you have any problems, vibration, breakage, ect? I have a set of H&R DRS 20's for all corners, but have been a little hesitant as there is a mixed bag of reviews. I like my sport rims & wish to keep them, so not really considering a wheel upgrade.
If you have had problems if you could please state the type of wheel spacers, size & types of problems you have experienced.

Felix808 I had extreme reluctance going with spacers because of honest feedback and horror stories. But the sunken in tires was driving me insane so I took the plunge. Essentially I think it all boils down to proper installation. I read a post where a member has stated that they ALL vibrate at some point. I'm hoping that is not true. 3 months later and 4k miles and no vibration and look still leaves me speechless! I always get them inspected before a road trip just for peace of mind tho. I will post when a wheel falls off!

And yes stud replacements

I'm kind of on the fence too. I'd love the wider stance but I'm wondering about unsprung weight affecting performance. Also curious if spacing the front wheels out beyond original spec would make the Z tramline along ruts.

Have had 15mm front and 20mm on the rear for over a year (H&R with replacement studs for all 4). No problems what so ever.

Using DRS-style (extended studs) spacers from H&R will be the better route, compared to using DRM-style (studs built into the spacer). It's a more solid connection between the wheel and the hub.

Had them for three months now and no issues. I have the stud replacement using stock rays.

I have the stud replacements and I drive my car HARD! Hit corners heavy and they feel great. No complaints from me!

It is all in the installation ,I buy Z1 spacers and the two things I do to avoid a problem is a very thin piece of tape around the hub where the spacer sits to remove any sloppy fit and two tighten the wheel before you put the car back on the ground ,vibration free to well above the posted speed limit.

Agree, it's 100% in the installation... But I do believe the bolt on studs are safer... Just my opinion

I agree with you there. You could have a broken stud at the hub & never know it until you removed the wheel.

That' why I bought the DRS Stud replacement type

Anyway with over 90% positive for users, looks like I'm going to open them up & put them on in a couple of weeks when I get some time. We'll let you know when I get a test ride in.

Brother, they're 10000000% safe if you or your installer isn't... Retarded

If you have any issues or questions when installing them, give me a heads up.
I might be able to drive up one weekend too and give you some help if you have any issues (right off the bat I recommend you sand the hubs and use a bit of anti seize lube [I only like gray one, not that copper crap])

20mm H&R DRM (one piece style) for all four corners on my Z. They look awesome. Zero complaints. Also, I'm running 245's in the front and 285's in the rear on Swift springs, no rubbing.

30mm Project Kics spacers in the rear. No problems at all.
