Winter setup help!

Hi guys,

Im new to the forums, and tried searching for a specific set of rims for the winter.

Ended up buying a set of cheap FastWheels Hayaku 18x9 +25 Offset and the top of the front calliper is rubbing the top of the inner walls of the rim.

I am looking at another set of winters now and hoping i don't get stuck with another set.

Anyone know if the XXR 527 18x8.75 +20 will clear the front breaks?

My car is a 2012 Coupe with the sport package and the 19" Rays.

Thanks a million!

I bought a set of these for my winter beaters but won't have a chance to mount them until Monday. I'll be happy to let you know definitively then, but these rims have a pretty high x factor and should clear the calipers without issue.

Welcome! Have you looked at what Tire Rack offers? Here are the 18" wheels they offer for the 370 ... Using Cookies

I went with the Sport Edition A7's in silver.

Wait ... you guys want to run those XXR 527's in the winter? Nice rims, but they look to be a little too fancy for winter.

Also, what kind of tire size will you be running? ... the recommended size is 225/50R18 for proper snow performance.

Could you also not just use some spacers, I would think a set of 15mm spacers would get you the extra offset required to clear the calipers... Would get you out to the equivalent of a 35mm offset.

Might save you having to pick up new wheels again...

I bough them because I though they looked nice with the Chromium Black finish but they're cheap enough that I wouldn't cry should they get destroyed by the PA winters. I originally was going to buy a set of MB Battles but I just couldn't pass up the deal on the XXR's.

As for tires I bought a set of Dunlop Winter Sport SP's. They don't come in 225's so I went one step up to 235/45R18's. Should keep my speedometer accurate to within a few percent and still reasonably cut through the snow. I don't expect to be trying to negotiate any blizzards in the Z this year. :icon17:

You probably could but I didn't want wheels that are going to be sticking out past the fenders if I could help it, though I am still debating running 20 or 25mm spacers in the back to bring my rims back close to flush.

Hey guys!

Please do update me if the XXRs do fit.

Its not the width of the rims I'm worried about because the set of FastWheels Hayakus are a replica of the TE37s and that was fine but the calliper was hitting the barrel.

So I was going to put these on Monday morning but my car is now giving me a CEL so off to the dealer it goes on Monday morning, assuming that it isn't a fluke (loose gas cap, etc.)and clears itself before then. As of this moment the plan is to get the rims on Wednesday. I'll keep you posted on the fitment.

Due to incoming snow tonight I decided to bite the bullet and mount the rims today. For those that were interested I can confirm that they clear the sport calipers without fuss.

Overall I'm pretty happy with how they look, though the rear's definitely will need spacers to fill it out a bit. I was debating 20mm but it's definitely going to need 25mm so I'll be ordering them momentarily.

Hope this helps!

Confirmed. I just sent you a PM, but a pic might be more helpful here. It's nighttime, and my cellphone camera sucks, but this should give you an idea until I can get some better photos.
