Car wables
Just put on v12 305/19/30. On the rear and stock potenzas on the front with of course sports and the car wables and feels like i am ganna die switching lanes on the freeway going about 75. Any reason why it would do this?

Well I figured out one tire is at 50 psi and the other 45. And the idiots forgot to unbalance it
|
ah, well the car will still pull and make it unpredictable (maybe wander) until you get the same type of tread tire in the front. that or ask them to put the same tread type back on the rear. what are you allignment settings at?
|
1. Shouldn't mix 2 different brands of tires...
2. V12s suck. 3. Over-inflation. Are they balanced? |
I have the same problem. I replace my Hankooks on the back - I run 305's - but didn't replace the fronts. I thought I had about 10K left on the fronts, which are also Hankooks - 275's. The car is jerking all over the place. I DID NOT have this problem with the V12's at all until I changed the rears and didn't replace the fronts. I am going to install new V12's on the front this Saturday and I am sure that will fix the issue. I looked very closely at the fronts the other day and they are pretty worn. I guess I should have ponied up the $$$ for all four when I replaced the rears.
I now that many think the Hankooks suck, but I really like them, especially for the money. I don't track my car, but I do hit the mountain twisties often and they have always performed fine for me, until this latest issue, which I am sure is my doing. AZ |
Just thought of something else, IF they are directional tires and they put them on the wrong way? That is a possibility.
|
I had the same issue.
The v12s are going to pull the rear around like crazy without a matched front set. Even with the front set, you're going to have some seriously sensitive steering. I'll be moving to the Continential Extremecontact personally because I do a ton of highway driving and it's simply a chore to drive the car like this. |

On the other hand, V12's have crappy soft sidewalls, and that's what I think the issue is. :tiphat: |

I put 18K on the original set of V12's with no issues whatsoever. This didn't happen to me until I replaced the rears without replacing the fronts. Therefore, I am quite sure that a new set of V12's on the front will take care of it.
I know that the Hankooks aren't the best track tire out there by a long shot. However, I really don't have any issues with them on a street car. I wonder how many people out there just parrot what some others say and have never run the V12's on their Z's. In my case they work great, and are much less expensive than some alternatives. YMMV. |
My tires are balances. But I think 305 is just too big on the sports package rims. Ima try to get the guy to order me potenzas 285 instead. Around a bend going 60 my traction is going off like crazy with no throttle !
|
Its a combination between different compounds, different tread types, and different sidewall thicknesses from front to rear that is causing this feeling.
|
Ok the guy lowered the psi to about 32 does thAt seem normal for the 305 hankooks?
