New Cor 4-Piece Wheels ***WARNING*** - Wheels & Tires - NAGTROC - The Nissan GT-R Owners Club

This manufacturer makes wheels for many private labels including Strasse Forged.

This is one of worst wheel failures I have seen.

From the story at the link, this looks like an example of how a supplier should not handle a wheel failure.

Wheel failure aside, yes the business aspect/handling of the situation is the worst part.

GaleForce 10-23-2012 10:32 AM

Wow!

b1adesofcha0s 10-23-2012 10:38 AM

Ouch.

phelan 10-23-2012 10:43 AM

I want to see the metallurgy report on those wheels. TeesGTR is my hero (4 pages into that thread)

DAAAAMN on the failure mode though. Every single one snapped? One must've gone, then the force distribution just snapped the others right off.

W.O.W. You have out done yourself again. Too bad Strasse cuts their own wheels with their own tooling. Ohhh and they also design their own wheels and have them tested before they bring them to market. That is why they only have a few designs... not because of lack of creativity but because their designs are proven and have not failed... And as the original article says the COR wheels warranties are void when in competition... That is COR not Strasse Forged... Also, Strasse Forged Hosts Track days for its customers both drag and HPDE's. The wheels are proven to be reliable on and off the track. My original set of strasse wheels are on their 3rd or even 4th vehicle and still look brand new! I am on my second set of wheels from them. I have sold over a dozen sets of wheels and have had ZERO problems with both customer service and the product itself.

You are making an attempt at a strawman argument. Everyone appreciates you linking the thread about the wheels and bringing to light the situation. HOWEVER, I and Others do NOT appreciate you lumping in other companies because YOU THINK YOU KNOW how their business is run.

that's because IRL there's only like 2k miles on those wheels :roflpuke2:

kidding, mike, kidding.

but seriously might be good to clarify / post there if strasse is indeed apart from cor in terms of who cuts the centers. it appears more than one poster on that thread thinks they all come from the same pot.

bullitt5897 10-23-2012 06:02 PM

Strasse Has their own Tooling and use a different cut method than COR. Strasse also purchases their own aluminum disks to cut from. The point being is they are not a Private label of COR. I sell COR and Strasse and they are two completely different companies with different processes both in manufacturing and how they do business.

So does strasse cut their own wheels at their own facility?

Just answer that.

Yes or no?

See post 40.

Just admit it. Its not a bad thing that they don't cut their own wheels. It is what it is.

ISS cuts in house in Miami. I saw my wheels being cut.

As I stated they have their own tooling and are separate from COR. COR has three private label brands and Strasse is not one of them. With that said no Strasse does not cut their wheels in their Miami office which is the location you are referring to. I stand by my statements: Strasse Forged is NOT COR Forged...

I have not said or implied any falsity here. However, you are under the impression that Strasse is a private label brand. A private label brand would not own it's own tooling and machinery...

See my second to last post here.

I understand what happened with COR is messed up and most companies don't want to be associated with them right now.

I dont blame them.

Should have stayed with OEM rims...:shakes head:

bullitt5897 10-23-2012 08:55 PM

Im just curious how they got such good lines repainting them without removing the centers?

b1adesofcha0s 10-23-2012 08:59 PM

And this is why I'm afraid to get aftermarket rims since I plan on tracking my car. Don't want to spend like $4k on forged wheels. I'll probably just buy a set of the sport rays or Nismo wheels if anything.

Pointed it out and yet no response from the peanut gallery.

See post 40 and a vendor (not on this forum or affiliated with anyone here) stating the truth about Strasse and COR or as Mr.Mixon calls it "false information".

Ignorance truly is bliss.

COR's Brands:

COR Forged
AXIOM Forged
BESPOKE Forged

That is directly from COR Forged. If you want you can call and ask them... Strasse Forged is not on that list now is it?

:roflpuke2: OK man... I would think a vendor would be more informed. Unless you are just in denial.

I'll let the forum decide what they see as true and false in this thread.

Just popping in to remind everyone to keep the arguments factual and gentlemanly. It's going okay so far, but if things gets nasty we all know how it's gonna go.

So just for clarification, as a former vendor you are stating with 100% certainty Strasse is not cut/manufactured by COR, their centers in particular as Strasse outsources outer and inner from other sources.

I am stating that their wheels are cut on their own tooling and machinery. This is directly from the owners of Strasse Forged.

Ubetit 10-23-2012 09:29 PM

As someone that has been looking for wheels for my roadster, threads like this just make it even more confusing. What i take away from all the negative forged wheel failure threads is that one company makes wheels for every forged US Wheel "manufacturer" except for HRE and Kinesis. :D

I need a flowchart of brands.

So now the don't buy list is:

360 forged
ADV.1
COR - And any private label they make
MHT - and any private label they make
