Best place for tire replacement
Was wondering where Z owners take their cars to get new tires installed. Would a place like Tire Kingdom, Goodyear, Firestone, etc. be a good idea? I'm just worried about them scratching my sport package rims. Do our rims require special equipment to properly mount tires?

I've always had good luck with Discount tire. I always make sure to tell the tire/service techs that the wheels are flawless and very expensive to replace this way they are extra careful when dismounting and mounting.

If you happen to have a Costco card, I have gotten tires purchased, mounted, and balanced with their comprehensive plan and i have nothing but good things to say. The local Costco let me watch them remove the old tires and put on the new with a nice computer aided machine, and plenty of grease. Not a single scratch on the sports Rays.
Also, their install and balance comes with lifetime-of-the-tire balance, nitrogen inflation (gimmicky, but whatever), and road hazard. They were very competitive with pricing compared to online retailers. Just a thought.

Probably not, but they could get them with a day or two.

I just got my new S-04 Pole Positions at Discount. They're great. Had to order them, but they arrived in 3 days. They always fill with nitrogen too, not sure if that's standard these days but I appreciated it. And they never get the steering wheel dirty.
They'll also match or sometimes beat Tire Rack's price, but they're usually priced the same as them anyway, and no shipping fees. |
