Re-11 Tires Question
Sorry for the re-post but I searched for an hour and still didn't get my answer.
Need new tires for my stock 19" rims and stock car (no spacer, no suspension(I mean stock suspension)) and going with Re-11, was thinking of NT05 but thanks to Kal Tires, Nitto (and toyo) won't allow US tire company to ship to Canada. Will go for the 285/35/19 for the rear. But the front is my question: a. 265/35/19 b. 255/35/19 c. 245/40/19 (stock) 1. What advantage with going with stock setup 245 vs 255 and 265? 2. Will I have any rubbing issue with 255 or 265? Thanks in advance everyone, and thanks Kal Tires... |
no rubbing on any of the tires. bigger the front tire=better the car turns in, more the car crowns the highway, better tire wear, more road noise, uses more fuel
|
which front setup would you recommend with 285 rear?

What cossie said. I have 265/35 F and 285/35 R and it works very well. Grip is crazy. No rubbing whatsoever. However, my VDC still kicks in slightly under heavy acceleration...I figured it would've adjusted itself by now.

I been running re11 285 square with stock sports package size and offset, no rubbing. Looks a little pinch but been autocrossing and no problem.

Great info guys! Thanks...
Another question, Where did you guys get your Re-11? |
Skip the REs get Yokohama ADVAN neovas stock size they are over size wider than REs and they last longer plus they are are the closest you'll get to the performance of an r spec tire. The grip is immense and the wet traction is unbelievable. When they are warm or hot it's like driving on rails. They are also lighter so you have less rotational mass. Yet noting you live in Canada you cant use these in the winter they don't like temps below 30 degrees.

Thanks for the input.
Don't plan to drive during the winter. Will consider the ADVAN. Thanks |
The Tirerack measurement for the 285 35 19 is off

Thats how you save cash and get stuff that can't be shipped right to Canada |
265-35-19 front will throw off speedo and lower the front end. Better stay with 245-40-19.

makes no difference. speed is off stock anyway
