Kumho Ecsta XS ?
Anybody have any experience with these tires? There are some reviews online but they seem to be pretty bias.
I am switching up my setup (again) and starting to look at different tire brands. |
Not getting kumhos. Found new set!
Be on look out for sale thread on current wheels! Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2 |
Whoops -- was going to say they are really awesome, very sticky, and superior to the Azenis, but didn't know there were any that fit the Z.
What did you end up getting? |
I have heard mixed reviews.
I have seen that azenis get consistent reviews. Also perform pretty good in water. Doing a 275/35/18 and 315/30/18 setup. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2 |

I drove on the Azenis 615h, not sure if they are better than the XS

There is a Kumho KU36 here in Oz which is a good "fast road" tyre ... good enough for track work (maybe 3 seoonds off the pace of a full R-Spec tyre) but I got 25,000Klics out of a set. Direzza Star Spec gives better track day grip at maybe a 2 seconds off R-Specs
You can see the tread pattern at PCR / UHP if you scroll down to KU36. I suspect that these will be similar to what you are looking at. Their big beneft (here at least) is their price ,... about 75% the cost of Dunlops, BridgeRocks or Yoki's. If you are using standard width wheels (8" in front and 9" in rear) your best option for tyres is 245/40R18 and 275/35R18 - they drop the car about 20mm and your speedo will read 9% over, but they are a good option for life -vs- grip and a good price. These will be custom wheels as usual.
Thanks for the responses guys. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2 |
