Any tires out there that I can expect to get 30k miles out of?

Are there any decent tires that will last this long? I don't do any track racing just daily commute with a little bit of spirited driving. I don't want to

I don't want to sacrifice a ton of performance but I do want a tire that I can get some decent mileage out of as I would be on a bit of a budget. Would Michelin pss get this kind of mileage?

Default Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus

Try these:

Michelin

Ultra High Performance All-Season. Pilot Sport A/S Plus
They have a tread rating of 500 and are warrantied for 45,000 miles.

I've put 35k miles on them and they are just starting to wear out.

Hope this helps.

How do they compare performance-wise to the stock potenzas? And how is the ride noise also? Thanks for the response

Default Also...

FYI,

The Michelin PSS's (not to the same as the the Pilot A/S Plus) are phenomenal sport tires w/ a tread rating of 300 warrantied for 30k miles.

Great tires but most Michelin's are expensive and will set you back quite a bit.

Default Potenza's vs. Michelin A/S

I'll speak for the Michelin A/S tires since I've had a bunch of miles on 'em.

Road noise is way less on the Michelin's and, in my opinion, performance wise (for street) it is great as well. I liked the Potenza's for performance but I was disappointed w/ road noise and the quick wear on tread. I only got 20,000 miles on 'em.

The Michelin tires hug the frikkin road and have much less noise than the Potenza's. However, after driving them for about 35,000 miles the road noise is starting to get worse on the Michelin's due to the wear on the tread. But, that's almost true for any tire as they come to the end of their tread life. Overall, I would highly recommend it as I've driven a lot on these tires. Oh, forgot to mention that these tires will set you back quite a bit. So, if you are on a budget go with the Hankooks. I've read that they are squishier as the side walls are softer.

Poke around the forum. You'll find some interesting stuff.

i got 13k out of my potenzas.

so far 8k on the PSS - much stickier, and much quieter... but i think i will still only get teens out of them - i got them with the 30k warranty thgouh so hopefully will get a discount on the next set at least.

Continental DWS. 50k warranty.
I've got straight the straight DW model right now and they are pretty good and seem to be wearing quite well.

If I ended up getting all seasons tires like those continentals or michelins, would they be good enough for driving in the snow? I was planning on getting some blizzak tires for the winter anyways. Figure I can save the stock sport rims from salted/sanded roads(I live in the northeast). Hopefully winters will start being as mild as last!

You can get through quite a bit with all seasons, but not all. I had AS on my 350 and did OK most of the time. No luck on ice. Blizzaks are your best bet.

I have some 255 40 19 for sale. I don't think I will be driving my car in the winter. $250, they have one season on them...

How does the warranty work with getting fewer miles than advertised? I've never tried it even though I've gone through tires every 12-15k miles so far. Do you need a lot of documentation?

(yeah, I don't think I can make it to 30k unless it's almost all highway)

Tire warranties are only if there is some factory defect. They don't guarantee that you're going to get that many miles.
