We've all traveled some. We seen cold weather. That's why we live in socal! As an aside, it's almost midnight and my iPhone weather thingy says it's still 92 outside.

A friend of mine is in Iraq (electrical contractor) - he has me drive his truck every so often to keep things in check... His onstar stuff notified him that the tire pressure was 2lbs low...lol So, having looked at the tires, I made them 5lbs high just to mess with him...and to rub off some of the center tread... |

Actually Michigan itself wasn't bad at all (about what I remembered). The trip was completely jacked both ways though. Also, Oklahoma is colder. Michigan, at least when it gets cold, you get used to it. The snow acts as a kind of insulator... Oklahoma - it's freezing-nuts cold, then 50 later in the day, then snowing 2-3" overnight without any real road-clearing support...instead they dump a small amount of salt and sand on the roads - just enough to p!ss it off, after the snow is already down, it melts a bit during the day, then freezes overnight...cold enough that the moisture in the air also freezes to it...the end result is that the roads are literally covered in 1-2" of ice, and you end up with a two-track for your lane that is basically two ice-ruts. If you get in them and stay in them, more than likely you'll be OK as long as you don't need to stop quickly...or turn to avoid anything...lol We've also have some odd freezing - I'll go out in the morning to find my truck *encased* in ice, sometimes up to a 1/4" thick - lol... |
