Default Hankook V12's!!!!!

I switched out the Yoko Advan's for the V12's.....this is the first time I have heard my exhaust in months!!! They are WAAYYY quieter! Very happy with the noise being gone. The downside is that the car is looser when cornering, I assume that is because the sidewalls on the V12's are said to not be as stiff. Not a big fan of this trait though. The Nismo gets babied a lot anyway so it's not asked to perform too hard on a regular basis!!

Noticed the exact same thing when I went from Pirellis to V12s. Can't beat the price tho...just have to be more cautious on those circular on-ramps, lol!

If you had a tire noise, check the insides of your old ones if you still have them, or at the least, get an alignment. Nissan's factory alignment isnt that good, and on the 350z especially, it caused a horrible tire roar. Toe is usually out of spec. Do it now, before you ruin the new set.

I don't understand, I see that a lot of people get the Hankook V12's however, it seems they lose a bit of grip in return. Whats so great about them other than being quiet?

They wore completely even on both tires.....I'm at 15k so I will have the alignment checked.

They are quiet, good rain performance, tread life is purported to be as good as most tires that go on our cars and the price cannot be beat.....did I forget to say how quiet they are!!

They're a budget oriented, relatively long wearing quiet tire.

Going with the Hankook too. Is there a specific contact person at Tirerack and since they are a vendor/sponsor on this forum do we get a discount?

I liked my Hankook's. Yes the sidewall is not as stiff as this tire is usually used for stretching tires now. The best tire though I have owned IMO was the Falken Azenis RT615k's.

Is the outside wear on your front or rear? I assume it's front, yes get an alignment shop to check it, and get the before+after readings. It can be a combination of camber and toe. I'm interested in what the readings are.

Nvm, just saw your other post, your rear tires having outer wear is odd. Stock 370z has plenty of rear negative camber, and you've been maintaining tire pressure, plus your Z is relatively new...have it checked out and I'm very interested to see the diagnosis

Vs Stock:

Cheaper
Quiet(er)
Long(er) treadlife (Use dependent)
(Better) Heavy rain grip

However, you will sacrifice performance. Initial dry grip when pushing it, and most noticeably cornering. It's really depressing having to break from getting Michelin PSS' to V12's due to cost as a temp replacement. I can't take turns at half the speeds I could with the PSS'. It's sad, but right now I need tread life more than grip. (Even though my front's are still at 70% from buying last summer. If I hadn't done some demo vids, I'd still have the rears on too probably, oh well. )

Definitely, also give your tire pressures a check too to see where they are at.

Hmmm, so I guess Hankooks are good for rain, thread life and IF you want to let your back loose frequently lol.
