How can you tell if you have genuine volk wheels
I just picked up a set and am having fitment issues. I'm wondering if any of you all could tell me what I should look for to ensure they are real volk as opposed to knock offs. I've already scratched the edges of my calipers trying to get these to work and think I've been screwed. :shakes head:

What type of volks? Some 19 say rays engineering on it. It should have stickers on the barrels.

Why is bad fitment causing concern? It is possible you bought Volks that aren't size properly for your car. What are the specs? |

they are 18" not sure of the offset but came off a 350z with stock brakes. you think the sport brakes are the issue?
edit: i went down to 18" because i know the sport pkg overseas doesn't include the 19" and the factory 18" wheels fit over the sport pkg brakes... |

Offsets should be on a sticker in the barrel, and/or stamped on the rim. Post up offsets and width and we can help. |
If you look at rays engineerings website it tells you which wheels fit on the z34. You probably bought wheels that won't clear the bbk.

edit: no stickers |

at this point i'm about to take a sledge hammer to everything and MAKE IT FIT.

Can only do so much without specs, I'm gonna venture that there Isn't clearance between the caliper and the inside face of the wheel, can you confirm?
I'm guessing a square setup? Either x8 or x9. |
yeah buying wheels without know the specs is not a good idea. the offset is the reason its hitting the calipers.

350Z/G35C typical aftermarket offsets are +15 to +25 front +16 to +22 rear. |

Take the 6th smaller bolt off of the front wheels. It is there to make sure you dont put rear wheels on the front of your car. I am willing to bet the rears fit. If not you will need spacers. I am pretty sure you didnt get ripped off as Varrstoen doesnt make a +30 wheel.

Let's see a photo, it's pretty easy to spot the fakes

Yes, It is on the Hub, where the rotor connects to the wheel. It looks like a mini wheel stud with no threads.

either i got screwed or i wasn't paying attention to my buddy but they are not real volk wheels. don't ever buy something from a friend of a friend. not stamped, no stickers(wasn't a big deal to me) but are not authentic. i've got my cash back minus $100 for scratching the paint on one wheel.
so i have a budget of $1900 and need a set of wheels/tires preferably volk and i want titanium or anodized blue. also what is the paint code for the sport brake calipers? i appreciate all your help guys, i owe you all a beer |

As for the stickers you can take those off... My first set of Volks years ago i didnt have stickers on them but they were Genuine.... As for 1900 for used Volks it will be RARE... Maybe for just the wheels but not for wheels and tires. Volks are beautiful and i have had numerous sets but for that price range you should look at Enkei RPF1s or Wedsport SA55M which you can get in a 19x9.5+15 and 19x10.5 +15 for a good fitment on the Z. Those are both in your price range used WITH tires. Enkeis in 18 inch are only around 19 pounds Wedsport in 19 inch are 21 pounds (2 pounds lighter then the Stock Rays and same weight as Volk TE37s) Good luck my friend. Sorry to hear about your troubles. |
