How many miles is expected / typical for these tires? They don't "look" like they have hardly any tread on them, at least, at the edges. It looks like replacements

What to expect from stock tires?

It looks like replacements are nearly $400/ea - wow!!! I mean, it's a nice car and all, and I love mine (just got it yesterday), but I think I'm going to not even touch the accellerator knowing that's what a heavy foot will cost me! |

These new 050A tires are supposed to be slightly better than the old ones, but if you are driving them hard you aren't going to see much more than 10-12K. I usually only get 5K out of my tires as I don't do a lot of highway, and do quite a few auto-cross events.

I have nothing but good things to say about Bridgestone Potenza's. The original set on my "Subaru Baja" have 58,000 miles on them, and still have good tread. I realize comparing AWD to sports car is not really apples to apples, but for what it's worth, ........

Someone in my neighborhood has one, and yesterday I saw one (might have been the same - same color) with Texas plates.
That car (blue w/ sport package, not sure if it's "touring" or not) car goes by my place every once in a while, and it really added to the fire to get this car over a few other choices... |

The flip side is they could save $250 a tire put RE050a's on it and make their ride that much squirrelier and dangerous. |

Agreed. Just part of sports car ownership. I don't really care too much for the RE505As, personally. Or for that matter, any Bridgestone, period. I can't wait to replace them with Michelin PS2s. I ran those on my 350, and they're simply in a different league.

Just run RA-1's. That's what I'm going to do. They are DOT approved and we're coming into summer.. so what the hell. I have two sets of the Michelins but I am not completely happy with the gripping power.

Another question, so far I've only looked at what bridgestone carries, as that's what's on the car now. What others are out there that are in the same price range?
Since I'm new to the high-performance-car arena, I figure tire makers are a whole different ball of wax (rubber) when it comes to performance tires. Michellin is a brand I've used for passenger car tires and was happy with them, but, honestly, I just get what's cheap and round and holds air for my other vehicles. On my bike, I use Avon's, but a quick check says they don't make it in 275/30/R19 |

i'm guessing if you have the sport package that it might be a good idea to get nondirectional tires so that you can at least rotate them since the sport package has a staggered fitment
