I dont think you are going to fill the gap with 18's. On mine, my tires are actually smaller in diameter than stock since Im running a 275/35 so Im scraping a bit more being on springs already. I didnt want the thickness or the price range of a 275/40. That seems to bump up the price a lot even in 265's but its necessary if you want to keep the stock diameter. If you want to get rid of gap you have to drop it but on 18's you will be scraping and fearing speed bumps. If you dont want to be that low and just want to get rid of gap, go up to 20's and drop it.

Looks good but a drop will make it look even better

Would dropping the car on springs get rid of the gap if I am running 18s?
Coilovers are a little out of my price range while I am in school.

Thanks yeah I plan on dropping it but, I'm waiting to see how a 285/40 will look once they come in. Since right now I'm running a 30 profile tire the gap is a little noticeable.

You have plenty of options with springs to go with a mild drop to an aggressive drop. Swift springs are gonna be your biggest drop. Eibach and tanabe are gonna be more of a medium drop and Nismo springs will be a mild drop. Heres of my car yesterday driving. I'm on Tanabe springs with a 275/40 in the rear and a 255/45 on front. Same diameters as OEM.

I'm set up the same as ^^Chris but with the eibach back. Swifts have been the fan favorite on this forum, i like them too. Eibachs are good for me tho bc the roads here in tx aren't great.

Mine is the stiffest one.

iamwagz 02-21-2013 06:37 PM

Must be the GF. Any more pics of your cars on these springs guys. Not looking for a really low drop like the swifts... Chris' car looks great.

I'm in Australia, our roads are pretty **** here and I need to be able to get in and out of parking lots and stuff. Ill be on 19"s soon and want a less aggressive but still nice drop.
